None that i have noticed so far apart from fuel efficiency. For a moderate style of riding, it will give around 25 kmpl in city and 30 on highways which i think is great. In city traffic, the annoying thing is the radiator fan being on for most of the time (annoying coz it is a bit loud). Also, one has to change gears quite often, but would get used to in a few days. Highways would be a treat to ride on.

It’s totally, on personal preferences. I personally own a discover 125t and have ridden it for 41k kms. Despite the flaws ppl talk about the Bajaj brand, this lil bike has never let me down. I have been riding it for four long years and never did it trouble me on anything mechanically (I service my bike once in every five months, make it roughly once in 6000 kms) .I know that it’s a small bike and then never expected anything magical from it. It has truly been a very satisfactory experience for me over this period.

Now even I wish to upgrade further and have dominar in my mind. Owing to my past experience I wish to stick on to it and buy one in the next one month.

I personally feel proud to say that I’m going to buy a flagship Bike of one of the largest bike makers in India. There is nothing else to compare at the price point and the features it offers.

But ppl keep advising to go for other foreign brands in the name of refinement and ride quality. Bajaj has excelled in ride quality and refinement many notches higher with the dominar. Though it is slightly not up to par with its foreign competitors, I would still choose a dominar 400 coz of my own past experience and the VFM.

Congratulations. I am using Duke 390 for daily commute (85kms /day) and it is doing the duty flawlessly in Bangalore . I get a decent mileage of 30-32kmpl with 60% city riding and 40% on highways. You will definitely enjoy this bike. Ride safe!

I am also looking to buy a 2017 Duke 390 but i am skeptical about the ride comfort, I like to go on weekend drives. Does it offer comfortable seating for long drives ?.

Duke 390 is a good bike. I found the duke 390 2017 to be have a much linear acceleration as compared to the older 390 which was very rough and jerky. The engine still remains to be very torquey and power delivery is in short burst which means you end up playing with clutch quite a lot in traffic casuing some pain in the hand. But given the power, I feel any bike with that kind of torque will cause this.
The seat is also comfortable as compared to the older version but a naked bike for long commutes is going to face a lot of wind blast. But then again its true with any naked bike. Besides there are so many out there doing cross country rides on the Duke.

If you ask me you would certainly enjoy riding the bike given the power and the torquey engine if that thrills you. It's an on-road mini rocket!
Go for a test ride and you would have most of the doubts settled.

How does the plastics fare in the long run? Do they get faded out or break? may be old dukers can shed some light on it?
