thats way too long - I think I'll wait for diwali or something so that Hero Xtreme 200 is launched & there are some good offers available.

Yes go for xtreme and make an ownership review after that.

You said Gixxer has a smaller rear seat. I am assuming you are concerned for your wife.

Let her sit as pillion and ask her opinion on it.

Brother even i had the same options here in bangalore the on road price of rtr 160 fi 4v is 1.08 lakh (I'm interested in the fi model) and 1.10 for Hornet 160R abs.. And the ns200 is 1.40 for the abs model... Has I like speed and have a height of 178cms the ns200 was kinda perfect when I checked in showroom but I doubt ns200 reliability

Not wife as I use Maestro Edge when travelling with her locally. But my colleague - we travel 50-80 km on highway sometimes & we switch driving & pillion - I'm not a fan of those so called sporty seats. I don;t get it why they use smaller seats and call it a feature?

Bro - I'm thinking of Hero Xtreme 200R - Hero showroom confirmed its coming in Aug'18 - I'm on their contact list for the same, registered today. Reason for it is that its a less power dense bike - 200cc producing 18 bhp & the torque curve shows it has 14 Nm from 2500rpm. The xbhp reviewer termed it as power-commuter, thats exactly what I want.

Nobody called it a feature. Does it say on Gixxer's product page that the small pillion seat is a feature? Its a sporty bike, thats how all sporty bikes are. If you were in the market looking to buy the R15 V2 or V3, would you complain about the pillion seat then?

Xtreme 200S has a raised pillion seat as well. Its also small FYI. It comes with single channel ABS (optional). You can take a look at the bike yourself on Hero's website. Infact the grabrails on 200S is placed much further behind than the pillion seat as compared to Gixxer's pillion grab rails which are next to the seat. Iam surprised you even took this bike into consideration other than for the 14nm torque at 2500Rpm

I watched all the reviews on YT from various reputed Indian biker media, the things that got me excited are as below:
                  1) Comfortable riding posture - not sporty, just right for commute.
                  2) Loads of torque from 2.5k-7k range.
                  3) The frame is a newly developed & tuned - good handling, each and everyone praised the handling.
                  4) The subtle looks - its not a head turner - looks like just another Xtreme but has good performance.
                  5) ABS & good suspension.
                  6) Its going to be priced well.

In short - it seems like a practical bike - a performance commuter - that's precisely what I need.

                    2) Loads of torque from 2.5k-7k range. This is definitely nice for commuting. Gixxer makes 14nm @6k
                    3) The frame is a newly developed & tuned - good handling, each and everyone praised the handling. Gixxer has the best handling in the segment
                    4) The subtle looks - its not a head turner - looks like just another Xtreme but has good performance. Gixxer gives you a bit more wow factor to spice up your life
                    5) ABS & good suspension. Gixxer has teh ABS, but the suspension is a bit on the stiffer side
                    6) Its going to be priced well. Expected price is 90k (not sure whether its for ABS or Regular), Gixxer(ABS) IS priced at 90k

                    7) Gixxer weighs 136kgs, 200R weighs 148kgs

In short - it seems like a practical bike - a performance commuter - that's precisely what I need.
Not refuting you but just giving you a comparo with the Gixxer. Replies in Blue

Go for xtreme 200 . It has better pillion comfort than gixxer and better power and torque also suspension is said to be on softer side. (Hero bikes generally have softer suspension setup)

Also maintenance cost will be nearly same, and xtreme has smaller tires therefore tire replacement cost will be less. 130 section rear tire is more than enoughvfor a 200cc. [emoji3][emoji3]

Thanks for your enduring support bro, I will definitely add Gixxer to the knockout round - once Xtreme 200R launches, I have planned to get test drive for it/ Gixxer/ Hornet.

By the way - I always had a thing for Gixxer SF - its looks are the best.

                          Tyre pricing isn't a concern - I don't mind spending if I get what I want - good traction & braking.

Cool, I am going to be publishing my Ownership video on the Gixxer SF soon. Its going to be very detailed and it will be in a systematic fashion. Besides the review of teh bike itself it will show you what you are supposed to be looking in a bike. That will allow you to easily evaluate other bikes as well. Stay tuned.

So you own a Gixxer SF, is it the awesome blue version which looks like straight from track?

Looking forward to it - the ownership threads here are ok, but they lack oen thing - there's no summary of the thousands of posts to act as a quick guide for someone looking for helpful info - and reading through a few hundred pages reading thousands comments to get to know about it is also a problem. In that way - a concise description/summary would help.

Nope its the black version. I didnt want to attract too much attention. Also having a black bike is more of a challenge in maintaining it. Scratches and paint fading is easily seen with black paint.
