But do test ride it before you make your choice! I am 5’7” and i felt i am too short for it! I was able to balance it and ride it with ease but the seat is high! If you are anything more than 5’8”, it will be easy! And anyhing less than 5’7” you might find it a little difficult

Re: Versys 650 or Vulcan S or Street rod 750 or Iron 883 ??

        Hi,

If you don't mind the tandoori type heat in city from the V-Twin Harley's and their heavy weight while maneuvering, then go wih Harley Davidson. The below ₹10lakh Harley's are not really up to the mark in fit and finish like the Softail lineup. Personally I never had a liking towards HD, but recently checked out the 2018 Softail lineup. Fell in love with the Fat-bob, but atrociously overpriced in ₹13lakh segment above Hayabusa!

I think if you have many rides already, then we can buy a Harley for that Sunday morning ride. They really are a show stopper and catch everyone's eye, but can't really use them daily in India's hot weather.

The Kawasaki 650 lineup : I did extensive test rides of 2018 Versys 650, Vulcan S and Z900 four months ago.

If you're above 6ft, have a hefty build and want a Kawasaki 650, it's got to be the Versys 650. I'm 6'1" and everything felt so ergonomically correct. Wide seats for both rider and pillion, higher set handlebars. This is the setup you need for 1000 km rides. Could've been slightly lighter though. Has loads of grunt in the bottom and has a sweet suspension for our roads.

Vulcan on the other hand is best for shorter people below 6ft, it suits anyone from 4'10'' to 6'4" due to flexi ergo seating. It's low centre of gravity does not make you feel the weight like Versys while standing still or parking speeds. It can match almost 85-90% of Versys suspension in suppleness. Just get the gel seats for rider and pillion (wider and longer than stock) and highway kit, you can easily tour on the Vulcan too.

But when I test rode the Z900, it just mesmerized me. What an engine. So Silky smooth, so punchy yet feels like a gentleman while cruising. That 4 cylinder charisma satisfies and tempts you more than Kawi 650s. I wish they add the Z900 engine to the Versys platform soon!

So my suggestion would be, Versys 650 if your tall and don't mind the high seating position and Vulcan S if your below 6ft and like the modern cruiser looks.

        Cheers!

I am 5’7” and Versys felt fine for me! I was able to maneuver thru traffic and was able to balance the bike well! But yes, anyone taller than mr can handle it provided they have good leg muscles!

I have been an owner of a Benelli 300 since last 3 years, and I am quite happy with it. I mostly use it for daily commute & once in a 3 months for long trips. I am planning to sell it off and buy a new one.
I am looking for a more comfortable bike than the Benelli 300. Pillion comfort is of utmost importance as mostly I will be travelling with a pillion.
So I am confused between these 4 :- Versys 650 or Vulcan S or Street Rod 750 or Iron 883.
So any of you guys who own any of these bikes please give your input.
                  Thanks.
Me too in same dilemma, except hd wasn't on my mind due to budget constraints.. I own a r15 and looking to upgrade... Vulcan was on mind considering my height ( am 5.3").. however as someone aptly said it doesn't give you the feeling of owning a super bike... Now thinking of Honda CBR 650 f... It seems to be a beast and wish to own it... However no test ride vehicle available across Mumbai dealers..

What say ... will height be a problem for me on CBR 650?

Height and weight will definitely be a problem for you in CBR650. You're better of with the Vulcan S.

Except for that inline four sound, Vulcan S has almost the same acceleration as CBR, and is the better motorcycle for you. Vulcan also has loads of power and torque in the bottom end, where the CBR has more power only in the top end.

                    Cheers!

Bro if you don't mind Harley Davidson, do checkout the new Street Rod 750. For your height it will be better than Vulcan in the handling department and will give you nice aggressive riding position like r15, also with 200mm of ground clearance you don't even have to bother about speed breakers or small medians.

                        Cheers!

When you sit on Harley Street Rod your thighs will be "much closer" to its V-Twin engine producing immense heat for city rides. On highway rides, it wont be an issue. Vulcan S is a very good bike, its torque rich. Then Triumph makes extremely good bikes, you should test drive and you may take 180 degree turn in your attitude then (I know few who did). Vulcan S and both Triumph Bonneville and Street Twin, all have max torque available in as low end as @3000 RPMs, very good for city rides and highway rides. Honda CB is a Naked bike, max torque kicks in @6-7K RPMs. It is upto you what you want.
