    You are welcome dude.

Remember, what you want is torque, when you want to go from slow to fast, you want torque when you want to overtake someone, and you need torque again when you are in traffic. Torque means how quick you reach from slow to fast speed and speed (or so called performance) means when you already are at high speed, how long you will maintain that speed. Riding on Indian roads requires torque, riding on bad roads and difficult weather/circumstances requires torque (e.g. touring the country) not performance. Unless you are specifically buying for highway rides, you don't need that much of performance given by these crazy sports bike and if you are doing only highway rides then Street Rod is fine too because you wont get much heat and you wont care about rake too.

Regarding Sportsers (Iron 883 or 1200 custom e.g.), they are known to have bad suspension set-up, most probably you gotta change it, plus they are known for bad pillion seats (if any) and a small size fuel tank, but Sportsers are the most customizable bikes ever built on this planet, there will be hell lot of mods available for them. Vulcan on the other hand is a full package, Japs are known to not care about lifestyle or bike culture, they just build good and solid bikes. Harley builds solid bikes too but they do sell it as lifestyle and hence Sportsers with those 2 problems I mentioned above

Yes, if OP is fine with stretching the budget to ₹9lakhs then Street Twin also is an awesome buy. Good long and comfortable seats for rider and pilion. But with pillion have to be very careful on speedbreakers due to low ground clearance.

Two of my friends own the 2017 T100 and Street Twin, they've crossed 12000kms now. I've ridden around 2000kms on the same. Brilliant torque pull from stand still with that sweet Bonneville exhaust note. Superb safety net with Traction control and ABS. But the front brake pad kinda wears very quickly is their complaint. Superb service intervals. After 1st service at 800 or 1000 kms, next 2nd official service only after 15000kms!

      Cheers

Hey dude.. just took the Vulcan test ride... Bit uncomfortable due to the handle position... It's almost leaned towards the rider... I feel it more as used to r15' s aggressive handling.. but otherwise looks great in Orange color.

Mainly due to the cruiser type handlebar. If you need r15 type riding posture then Ninja 650 is the best for you. It has a more relaxed posture suitable for touring.

Forget Vulcan then and test ride one of the Triumphs. You did not mention any budget in your OP

Due to his preference for supersport type riding posture, in the Triumph stable the new Street Triple will be the best for him, but it has high seat height of 815mm. Sadly it's really overpriced now since the S version itself cost ₹9.3lakhs ex-shwroom!

Riding posture is a matter of personal choice. An intelligent thing will be to match it with the kind of riding one does. OP mentioned this:

                • I mostly use it for daily commute & once in a 3 months for long trips.
                • I am looking for a more comfortable bike than the Benelli 300.
                • Pillion comfort is of utmost importance as mostly I will be travelling with a pillion

Supersport riding position definitely do not come closer to 3 requirements above (in fact it comes against them)

An upright riding position will be better in his case. Hence Versys 650 (taller seat height of course). Ninja 650 you mentioned got bit of sporty position but will fit his requirements fine. I think it matches both worlds of sport and commuting best if OP is looking for sporty thingy. After all Ninja is ultimate sports thing. Then we got Harley, that produces heat but fits the above requirements fine (with customizations I mentioned earlier).

Mate I already suggested to OP long time ago. He already said he'll look in to. You can find it if you scroll back.

Now we both are suggesting motorcycles in last 6 or 7 posts to member y2kr15, not OP.

Thanks a lot both of you guys....arnuld and jazzysarvana, for your suggestions... Well the OP was by mohsin and I had posted in it over my confusion in choosing the super bike for me. Yesterday took the Vulcan test ride, already mentioned about the handle position. Still this can be overlooked as will get used to it over a period of time.. but the ground clearance is a BIG Issue.

Well my budget is in between 6 to 8 lakhs, even Honda for that matter exceeds it.. still fell in love with it.. it's a close call in terms of finance options available and height/weight. Will definitely test ride it once before doing any booking

By the way, how's the UM lineup? Budget friendly and also has good ground clearance..

UM Motorcycles are just Chinese bikes re-branded to India. Someone posted me a link to a web-site where how you can just get it done with your brand name "y2k@r25" written over it. Not worth the money spent at all. Dominar and newly launched Ninja 300 are way better choice compared to that.

Regarding, Vulcan Cruisers have extremely low ground-clearance, so I myself wont buy (even though I am a cruiser guy)

Remember one thing, al these bikes are imported, hence never tested on roads in India. They are built for some other countries and their roads and their weather/environment and you take a risk when you ride them here + anything breaks then it would cost you a lot. That is not to say that no one runs imported bikes here, I have seen many in Hyderabad (Daytona, Bonneville, Harley to name a few. Just recently saw a Harley Davidson Low-Rider). It is just that 2-wheelers are already prone to double the amount accidents compared to 4-wheelers and I don't want to add another factor of riding bikes not designed for our roads and environment.

How about latest BMW 310R ? (Else both Ninja 650 and Versys 650 are great. Versys is an ADV, hence will handle Indian roads much better than both Ninja 650 and Z650)

Yeah got your point.. even me not in for UM. I am 5.3" and hence versys is out of scope for me. The day I had been for Vulcan test ride, tried to sit on versys... Bad luck :-(

I would be riding with pillion mostly.. hence ground clearance is of importance.

Anyways thanks for your valuable guidance.

Hopefully will zero down very soon. :-)

Versys is pretty high! Even for a person at 5’9” had to tip toe while sitting on it!

You can consider the street rod 750

Hi, why don’t you test ride the z650, has the same engine like the N650, V650’s (versys and vulcan). Z650 comes with low seat height-790mm. It’s within your budget but it’s a naked bike.

                              Happy Shopping!!

Yeah, I Know that bro. But will miss the aggressive stance on n650.

The only reason I might go for Vulcan is it's low Seat for a pillion. Else n650 was for sure. Even was thinking of CBR 650f. But unfortunately test ride vehicle not available with dealers and heard its seat height is 810 mm, which might be a problem for me.

For me seat height (Rider and pillion) and budget friendly is what I look upto.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will surely post once finalised on the model.

                                Take care :-)
