You could look at P220, or even FZ25. Both are fun to ride bike with less maintenance required. Also, FZ25 being Jap, you wouldn't have trouble with service and spares

Re: Yezdi or not?
Finally someone who understands me!!! I literally shedding tears of joy. I was really put off after that person's post which is why I didn't reply to a lot.
As for parts, I'm planning to get a cl2 which will still have parts for the upcoming years as compared to the roadking which is almost impossible to source due to the stop. Idk why it is so, but yeah. Also, lots of my friends have easy access to spares considering they have great contacts and are a part of various dedicated clubs.
The mere pride of owning a 2S is something I really want to feel and was almost ready to buy one, but I really thought that I should ask for an opinion. Which is why I was devastated by the response by hellgate.
Things apart, I most definitely will get a cl2 and use it for as long as I can. Considering the ban comes into effect, I have kept aside some money to get a more practical motorcycle like the Jawa or probably the new Yezdi (still a rumour, ig). I just dont want to not give the Yezdi a chance ig.Originally posted by shyam.mora View PostYezdi is a dream machine for so many 2 stroke enthusiasts. Many doesn't realize the fun of riding a 2 stroke. Sure it is easier to maintain. But the problem comes with spares. I booked a Jawa recently. Before that I researched a lot about the older 2 stroke Yezdi. And my initial plans were same as yours. I always dreamt of owning a 2 stroke. Everything is OK. But availability of parts will be an issue. Even if you find them, prices are exorbitant and illogical. And the news is that Government is putting a permanent ban on 2 stroke motorcycles once BS6 norms kick in. So unless you want to buy it just for joy rides and occasional riding, it wouldn't make sense. This is my opinion. I dropped the plan and booked a Jawa as I need it for daily commute.

Re: Yezdi or not?
Tbh Billie,
P220 or Fz25 really doesn't give me the thrills after owning an R15 and going over various other motorcycles under 300cc.
I know that the Yezdi won't give me any thrills either, but then, a Yezdi is a Yezdi, right? The way that exhaust pipes sound are phenomenal.
But then ig you're right from the maintenance front. P220 might be my best bet if I really just want to consider maintenance as a thing.
Fz25 is not something to my liking really, it's an odd looking bike in my perspective. I'm sure others think otherwise, but then that's just me. Also they completely destroyed the instrument console on that bike. I'd prefer a full analogue over that anyday.Originally posted by tripping_billie View PostHow much would be your budget?

As for the budget, I'm planning to buy something that I can get by selling my R15. I'm not really a new motorcycle kind of guy, so looking at used ones. Also, you'll be surprised to know what kind of gems you can find in the used market for reasonable prices.Cheerio!

Re: Yezdi or not?
Good decision. Regarding the ban, not a rumour. I have very good contacts in ARAI and I got to know from them. Anyways if you are OK with that, don't think twice. Go with your heart. Not other bike can give the thrill and experience of a 2 stroke. 2 strokes have a fun on their own. Ride safe.Originally posted by not_a_hoonigan View PostFinally someone who understands me!!! Re: Yezdi or not?
Guys!! I got my yezdi finally last week!! And tbh, I'm so glad I did. Quite a Beast and a head Turner all the way. Still getting used to petty stuff like turning off the petrol tap and the stiff gears but man oh man, wasn't it worth it!! My legs are swollen like a potato and bruised all over but the pain is so wonderful!! I'm sure I'm not making sense right now XD! Here's my baby, sorry for the bad lighting, will post better photos once I take her out tomorrow.Cheerio!

Congratulations!! That’s a rear colour. Wishing you happy miles with smiles!!
If you don’t mind, can you share some more details about the bike like year of make, how much did you pay for it, FC validity, place of purchase etc. Thanks!!

Re: Yezdi or not?
Got the bike from Alappuzha, Kerala for 60K. Got it from an enthusiast who owns a variety of other vehicles. FC upto '21, 1987 cl2. One issue though is that the previous owner had somehow tuned it for performance and an ignorant me was happily overtaking RX135s and other 150cc 4strokes effortlessly. Yesterday I rode to Wayanad from Kochi and that's when I noticed that he gulps down fuel like anything. I was expecting somewhere around 30-35 considering Roadkings with perfectly tuned carbs give 25-30 kmpl. But to my shock this thing gives 19-22 based upon the riding style. I'm at a garage now, getting it converted to CDI and clearing some other small issues. Will tune the carb and update how it goes!
Cheers.Cheerio!

Re: Yezdi or not?
Carb is tuned and I'm still waiting for the motorcycle to return to reserve fuel. Although, compared to the other 2 cl-2s my friends own, mine has a better acceleration and top end. Guessing that the FE is still gonna go for a toss. After the CDI conversion, I installed a fog lamp, a horn and luckily got a pair of OG roadking indicators (in the pics above). Yesterday I wanted to hear how my motorcycle sounds without the flute and I removed it. Sounded horribly loud (I have locally sourced exhausts which sound shitty as it is) so I placed them back. I guess one of them must've loosened up while riding back home because today morning when I checked, my right exhaust didn't have a flute. Doesn't sound awfully loud but the difference is significant. Planning to shift to RD handlebars as they're wider rather than keeping the OG one. Also, please suggest if there's any practical mods that can be done for long rides.Cheerio!

Re: Yezdi or not?
I learnt to tune a carb!! Yay to me! I'm now getting around 30kmpl on highways without compromising on the power needed on highways. Although going past 70 is a pain as I think I blew a gasket sometime earlier and now the bike spurts oil from the bend pipe at speeds above 70. Realised it the hard way.Cheerio!
