        Re: Yezdi or not?

Got back from Mysore yesterday after getting stuff fixed. One of my exhaust flute had fell off somewhere during a ride and I'd been riding with painful ringing in my ears all day. Got the flute installed and it sounds beautiful now. Apparently the oil leak issue was due to the lack of a flute, I noticed that the leak was almost non existent. Also the bike is waaay smoother than before and climbs better. Did a top speed check from Bangalore to Mysore and I clocked 115 on the speedo before I ran out of road. A new issue has arised as the rear wheel keeps wobbling. Guess I've busted the ball bearings. Nothing to worry about too much, but it's evident on speeds below 30 on 4th gear. Other than that, the bike's as good as new. Got some Diesel and car shampoo today to wash it as it'd been very dirty after I had to travel to a few places in Tamilnadu and then a few rough days in Bangalore.

Can't expect more than that for something that's running on half a century old engineering [emoji51]. I know people who get 16-18 kmpl on their roadking, so can't complain!

As for the pain I mentioned about earlier, it wasn't metaphorical. Riding pants or jeans can't do nothing when boiling hot oil is in the picture [emoji23].

              Re: Yezdi or not?

New Update! Bought an allied CDI from MR. Abdul Rehman in Bangalore, and the bike runs pretty well. The vibrations during idling have quietened down and the beat sounds better than what I had with the samurai CDI setup installed. The top speed has increased marginally and FE has gone up up to quite a good extent. In comparison, I got somewhere around 28-30 combined earlier and I get 35 easily in the city ( comparing the current FE in city only as I only take it to the town once in week). The lights have improved marginally, but I guess better bulbs would result in even better lighting, if not, I'm still happy that the light is usable when the bike is idling.

I'm planning to get in touch with Mr. Somender Singh to learn more about the grooved heads, his US patent. Does anyone have any 1st hand experience with this on a 4 stroke or 2 stroke? I've read and heard a lot about the cars he's worked upon and a 15 kmpl Esteem that idles unbelievably slow and pulls away from 20 in 3/4th gear.

Now I know he started out with Yezdis and he has a video on YT with different Yezdi and Jawa heads and how to groove them, but I've never heard of anyone who actually got it done on their bike. I know this is a very sensitive subject for some, but if anyone has a say on this, I'd be incredibly glad to hear you out and get some pointers.
