Test drove the Uni today and well it seems like it would be a great buy , no nonsense, comfy with monoshock and all, but that drive was simply ordinary.I will be driving the bike buy for maybe 4 years or more and well i dont want to feel ordinary .The Karizma and the R15 left me smiling wide as i turned them off and i had this sense of reluctance in handing back the keys at the dealership.I did not get that feeling with the Uni and a friends Pulsar 150 i drove.
Still waiting on the Pulsar 220 , Bajaj people seem annoyed everyday when i show up asking if "its here yet"
Nice to see all that effort,
The GSR is a good product from what I have heard, thought I havent really had a chance to ride it for more than like 100Meters!

From what I read here, may be its time you give RTR a shot....

True, and absolutely sad.... Imagine having to walk up to a Uncle and ask if he can give me a short ride on it!
Imagine me being fully kitted and on my R15... that Uncle was surely amused!

By now i would finalize on R15 but still doubts about low end torque. I heard that installing a K&N filter helps this issue. Is there any truth to this and if so what other aspects of the bike are affected or are there any other ways to fix this?
Bajaj dealers offered me a P200 test drive and said its the same as the 220.I turned the offer down,Looking at both bikes i think they will be very different,so the wait continues.

the old and new 220 will prolly have the same chasis
so you should ride and check whether it is comfortable for u or not
                hence the waiting makes sense

anyways good to hear that u have patience
                lets see how long
Hope is a good thing ,

Patience is not a problem, ive always wanted my own bike ever since one day when i was a kid, i asked my dad what the loud noise was and he said it was a bullet after all these years ,some more days wait is ok

Im new here, to India and well to the whole biking scene as such, i know how to drive a bike but well thats about all i know about bikes.I live in Kerala and will soon be going to college and so have decided to buy a bike for city commuting.
Im 5'9 and weigh 62kg.This will be my first bike.
Im looking for a bike which(in no particular order):
                    1)Looks good
                    2)Handles Well
3)Has decent mileage (around 40 or so is fine)
4)Budget is not much of an issue , as long as the bike is good i am willing to spend.
5)Should be low maintainence and not have many problems.
6)Have a good pillion seat, I might have to take a friend along to college and back.
I am open to all suggestions but so far what I've seen and read about bikes my views are that FZ16/S is a good bike but i have doubts about the pillion seat,Apache RTR seems to suffer from ride killing vibrations and other problems,Pulsars , well there are too many of them hehe .
I was considering buying the Avenger as it looks great, seems to have a good seat but i dont know about its mileage or maintainence or other issues and specs.Same with the Karizma and R15, i dont know anything about them, so someone please shed some light there.
I have ruled out CBZ extreme, Hunk and Unicorn because well i just dont like them .
                    Thanks in advance
Dude Avenger is a good option but the thing is that the Bajaj after sales services is really poor because i have suffered this kind of problem im a owner of P200, actually the thing is that Bajaj guys dont listen to your problem properly.
Anyways i will suggest you for the RTR180, RTR160Fi both the bikes are fairly good in performance and come up with a decent mileage too.

yeah fz's pillion seat is pathetic, az ^ said avenger suits to your needs, bt maintainence iz required equally...
bt if budget iz not an issue thn i suggest you to go with R15 blindly..
simply awsome machine regardin mileage, comfort (i m 5'11),top end, lookz, handling ..

I have heard this from almost all RTR owners that there is a vibration problem at high speeds...
Do check that out if you want to try out the RTR...

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

I have and experienced the problem, wont be going for RTR for sure.
Just waiting for a P220 test drive, i need to see if the bike is as heavy to handle as the other pulsars and if so then a red or black R15 it is

Getting my R15 next week, dunno red or black confused but R15 it is.Hope i wont regret this
                            Thank you all for help
One last question, the salesman said since R15 has an aluminium engine it doesnt need running in. True or BS? If true then is R15 running in any different than other bikes,if so please specify . Thanks again.

These engines do not need much running in. Just dont redline it for extended duration.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

but you wont enjoy it riding in city very much due to lack of low end torque (compartively lower ) unless you are ok with frequent gear shifts
