  • Which 100/125cc?

The bike is for my father.(height 5 7)
    Looking at a 100/125cc bike.Budget-around 55k
It should have Mileage, comfort, reliability and no service issues all the basic things.
I am not able to decide which bike to go for as there are many bikes in this category and have never researched or payed interest in below 150cc range.
In the 125cc category, based on research in xbhp many are preferring Yamaha Gladiator and Bajaj discover.
But some xbhpians say that gladiator is giving a mileage about 40-45
That's very less for a normal 125cc bike.Is that true and why is it so?
But I personally don't like the graphics on the normal gladiator, but that is secondary....
Now friends please suggest me a good bike in both the categories(100/125cc).
Forgot to tell i stay in visakhapatnam. And we have really really bad roads, basically the roads where the bike is driven.

      100cc Hero Honda

A 100cc will be lighter and comfortable for your Dad.

Hero Honda 100ccs' are comfortable to ride on bad roads, reliable ,well built, proven as trouble free over years plus they give decent mileage....choose among Splendor Plus, Passion and Passion Pro depending on your Dad's comfort level.

It is for your dad.. forget 125cc.. 100cc will be sufficient for the job. My choice - Passion Pro

guyz his dad may be having a passion for riding thats y he asking for 125cc

              let him decide

              125cc - HH super splendour
              100cc-splendour series

if its 125/100 then with no doubt i can say HH are the best in that..both in releiability and performance

forget bajaj go the HH way for bellow 150cc

as far as bajaj is concerned XCD125 is a waste looks like a cycle,..and disc0 125 is old though it is good..

              can't say about gladi..

let you dad test ride the bikes i should say.......
because some kmpl mileage up and down may not be a huge problem
but comfort is the most important factor i guess here
because of his age ( no offense please , just a generalization ),,,, he might get backaches , etc

please tell something about his physique.... fat or thin ?

also due to age.... i dont support kick start bikes..... only self start
i would recommend him to test ride the following bikes

                  1. BAJAJ DISCOVER 135 DTS-I
                  2. PASSION PRO
                  3. GLADIATOR

i think all three are good bikes
discover is also a low maintenance bike ,,,,,
dont know about passion n gladiator in terms of maintenance

i dont recommend any other 100 or 125 CC bikes
                  just my opinion
                  cheers n best of luck
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and

You can think of Honda Shine as well! It is a good 125cc bike. Has self start and disc brakes. Good for your place Vishakapatnam. And after all it is the trusted Honda engine. So I guess it will not be having any service issues.

We don't have a bike at all.At present a 20 year old scooter(working perfectly except starting trouble),and honda dio and he doesn't have any passion for riding.I am asking for a 125cc because,we have really steep road(the one to our house)so may be a 100cc would face some difficulties with a pillion rider.

Yeah! I thought about it but, Honda's service(There are 2 dealers in our city,I only know about only one dealer where we got our dio and I don't know about the other dealer,he is a new one) in visakhapatnam kinda su***(very much).I have a very bad impression about their service.

                          Go for
1.Super Splendor/Passion Pro:If you want proven HH reliability, comfort, mileage but don't want to stand out from the crowd.
                          2. Bajaj Discover 135: If you like to decimate all other 100/125cc bikes in drags. Quite reliable though, this machine. And fun.And quite comfortable for people below 6 feet.
3 Yamaha Gladiator: If you like to lean into every corner.Don't care about mileage drops. If you can live with admiring glances from girls.Spares can be an issue. But this baby is very very comfortable to ride everyday and is quite a looker in Yamaha racing blue.Fifth gear is heaven. Not suitable for riding on bad roads though.

If for instance, this bike will also be used by you too, then go for either the Bajaj or the Yammy.

Go for the Passion Pro only if u need the convinience of Electric Start. Disc brakes? Not really needed for a 97.2cc.

Look at Splendor + / Splendor NXG.

In the 125cc segment, if u dont care about the looks , want a wasy to handle(in city traffic),fuel efficient bike , go for the XCD 125/135. Smoothest mills from Bajaj.

If not, go for the Gladiator.Others are not worth mentioning.
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

                              I personally don't like NXG.
many are preferring for passion pro
may be we should go for that
and BTW will HH be launching passion super pro or something like that in the near future
