  • P220 Fi or P220 DTSi only

Am posting on behalf of one of my friend in Chennai, Vinodraj. He is confused and not able to make mind for his new babe.
Initially he has booked the P220 Fi Black, but the PBK guys informed him that the black is out of stock, he has only option for red and silver.
If he can make his mond for DTSi only he can get the black version.
His question is it a wise decision to get the DTSi only or go with the Fi version overlooking the colour thing ?

    Help my freind

I personally would still go for Fi!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Non-Fi version would be my choice.. Fi only if it was programmable
Also our country still lacks expert mechanics and machinery to work with Fi bikes..

For me The better price tag, performance and looks are all better with Carb version.. So why Fi?

My choice goes to carb version as 5K lesser than FI and also the performance > FI.

I would say go for the non Fi model, use the cash for something else, say riding gear!
The new biggest carb among Indian bikes would surely do its duty in the cities, in the hills it remains to be seen. Auto choke ensures no cold start problems.
Also there would be a few minor styling changes.
More importantly, as of now the Fi model is available against order only.
It could become a problem if it is phased out later on. Hence the suggestion considering the above factors.

                        rightly said..

carb version is maintenance friendly. Altough with Probiking showrooms around you wont have any problems, but if you are at aplace where there is no probiking showroom, the above line in bold stands good.

Having said that, the FI engine is a very refined one, havent rode the carb 220, so cant comment on it. Personally i would have gone for the FI

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

There are no reaseons to buy the FI, DtsI model is much more refined, cheaper, better eqquiped and is much better than FI in all aspect, barring the miniscule upper hand in low end torque. Carb are easier to maintain as well.
BTW have ridden both bikes, and DTSi is simply better. Plus you will gett black handlebars and grab rails in black option.

I will fo for the non-Fi..

Will get more mileage as well as performance (more stable, smoother handling and gear box) as we all know..
