But the Fi being sold now , is it the same old version ? I think the one with DTSi specs and Fi will be a better buy , but if its the older one , why would anyone buy it.

I would rather go with non fi, i cannot rely on probiking for all the maintainence with a carb version one can DIY..

For people who have recommended the FI model, do you have any specific reasons for that. The carb is cheaper and has more performance. Is the carb model stripped off any features?

          5k?

i came across that the price difference is 5000 bucks between the carb & Fi version..thats why i quoted 5K.. Is is true that the difference is 10000 rupees?? throw some light on it.

The main feature which is the crux of this question - FI

I hope there should be no mileage drop in the latest version.

With gyz on the ownership thread posting 52 and 60 as FE figures during runin, i dont think FE could have reduced. But hey... it still run in.. and they are'nt ripping yet.

As for the FI, Its only advantages currently remaining are on the hills, during cold starts and a bit higher low end torque

I would say FI is only benificial on varying altitude conditions where the user may not bother about Air/Fuel ratio. On carbed bike cold start is not all a problem, as I can say from my experience, that is -2 is taken as cold conditions.
