    Gearless Scooter!

    .

Yes, its true, some dealerships have the waiting period of 2-3 months but six months??? am surprised!!!

as for the deal breaker waiting period....ah well, how about you getting one before making any payment too. and is that a deal stealer now???

ok Jokes apart, I see a lot of inputs have poured in and am amazed to see how well versed are we towards gearless scooters....

See, my point is, get yourself something that should last for at least three years and also something that should make you fall in love with the vehicle all over again.

Almost every gearless scooter is good, but get yourself that needs little or no maintenance, has got the power, even if you don't want to be a Green Light Rossi, ahs a decent kilometers to a liter of Petrol thing, has good customer service network, and something that should be a proud possesion.

    You are the best Judge.

P.S: I still would advocate for Suzuki Access even if Bunny differs with me on that. Peace

      Found the perfect bike!!

I've found the perfect bike (scooter)!!

Only, it's not actually for sale in India. It was the pic on a page for the new LML NV ... but it's actually the Honda SH300i. And it's perfect!

I am very tempted to screw respectability (and being able to wear a dress) and buy a proper motorbike.

Do any of the Suzuki dealers have a clear idea of how long the wait for the Access is? Specifically in Delhi.

Anusha, why do not you personally go and enquire, along with having a test drive of each scooter? It would make your task easy.

I am in the US right now. Will be in Delhi next week, then I can start looking at dealerships. But at least I have a short list now of ones to look at ... and you guys have helped a lot in figuring out what to look for/what questions to ask. Dealers, of course, will always tell me their bike is the best.

Well, cant exactly tell you the wait period but few Dealers(including US) would oblige their customers by ready delivery on the phone call too.

Na na , against bribing totally. Am working day in day out at a Dealership, so dont need no one to bribe.

Right thereyou are, but if you ever come and visit our dealership, you will yourself feel the difference. We don't sell by making tall claims, we sell simply by providing the customers the maximum information and thereby helping them in closing out on their choices. But in the end, the customer would always make The Right and the Best Choice.

Kinetic Blaze.....amazing Scooter. Sourcing of Spares can be a little concern..... The technology is from Hyoshung in collaboration with Kinetic in India which is now being taken care by Mahindra two wheels.

so is the issue of reliability. During the GIR, there were a number of problems that cropped up out of nowhere (oil leaking was just one of them, and then there was spare part problem) forcing us to load the Blaze on to the backup van every now and then. And then, you have a bad fuel economy, 35 kmpl. but it was amazingly comfortable, almost like a moving couch on the highway.

Blaze is being discontinued by Mahindra. I'm also feeling sad to watch it go.

UPDATE: I thought I'd let y'all know that I've decided on the Suzuki Access 125. DCS very diplomatically (along with several other xbhp wallahs) took me to test drive the Suzuki, Hero Honda Pleasure, & the Honda bikes -- the Activa, Aviator, & Dio.

I tried the Suzuki first. The HH Pleasure was next, and the difference in power was pretty obvious even over a short distance/at low speeds. The Suzuki was much more sensitive to acceleration, & felt like it wasn't working at all to accelerate (even with a pillion) where the Pleasure did feel like it had to try hard just to get up to 30. The road was actually really good (of course when I want some good potholes I can't find them!) so I didn't get to "test" the suspension, but the Suzuki felt a lot steadier & heavier even over a pretty rough patch of road.

We then tried the Honda bikes. The Activa was OK. It drove steadier & with the feel of more power than the Pleasure, even though it was the same motor. The Aviator style I don't like as much, and the telescopic shocks are actually the "deluxe" & therefore more expensive version, putting it up to 45,000 (if I remember correctly). With the Access, I get the shocks, better styling & a bigger engine at the base price.

It also really bugged me that both of the Honda vehicle I test drove already had things broken. They are both new styles, so they obviously weren't old vehicles, yet the speedometer was broken on one and the taillight was broken out on the other. Not a very good way to convince a customer of the quality of the vehicle.

So, I decided on the Access because
                              1. I like that it has more power
                              2. and good suspension
                              3. and better accessories (the basket is bigger & metal. On the Hondas it is tiny & plastic)
                              4. for the same price as the Hondas before the extra features (and only a little more than the Pleasure).

We didn't even try the TVS as the difference in power was so obvious between the Access & Hondas that dropping another 15 ccs would be far too little power for what I want.

Now to get the paperwork together & a driver's license! I hope to start driving this coming week.
