if you go for HH donot buy junk ooops sorry hunk...
OT:
You had partially answered your question yourself. It's not looks which did not attract attention or fan following, but targeting and pricing, for sure it looks good but
- It is a tourer bike as per Yamaha themselves and how many tourer we have in our country. Even those seasoned tourers know that ZMA is way better tourer at almost the same price.
- For general people - "we don't tour, then why pay almost 10k more just for a fairing with twin lamps(in which only one works at a time)"
I feel, majority of FZ lovers are young ones who need a swanky yet powerful enough bike to go to college and have a good ride with their GFs, they don't care of short/long gearing or tourer or no tourer. For them FZ and Fazer are the same bikes while one is almost 10k cheaper(with 3k discount) than the other minus fairing. So getting FZ approved from their parents or pockets(if they are earning) is way simpler than getting an additional fairing @10k
.
So I don't think it's looks which is not getting attention but the CONCEPT@PREMIUM as a whole is failing to attract customers.
@Thread Starter
If you have not yet finalized, and as per your requirements:
- Looks are subjective - but almost unanimously FZ is the best looking.
- In your list, FZ is the most comfy ride. RTRs have more aggressive sporty riding position which can cause back prob though there have been work arounds which has been posted on this forum.
- Mileage wise RTR Fi would be the best from your list.
- Handling wise, both FZ and RTR are great handler and feel really light while riding.
RTRs are more bang for your money, but if back is a concern do test RTR's riding position before buying it, else FZ is the bike for you.Last edited by chauhan_saurabh; 08-12-2009, 02:25 PM.
