Thats true, Avenger isnt as power tuned as P200 is..
I own a P180 ug3 and i really didnt face any issue in these 3 years of ownership, I agree that i maintain it well (oil change at 2k kms). Its the ug2's and ug1 days u are talking about where the pulsar quality of parts was horrible and wud give up under hardcore riding.. The recent ones are not that bad (not as good as honda but still good enough).

For we Xbhpian's Bhp is never enough I'm just suggesting you because one of my friend bought a hunk and goes red whenever i overtake him, he's so much irritated that he is considering to sell off his hunk and get a ZMA for himself to just teach me a lesson . you wudnt believe me that I still get 45+kmpl on my p180 ug3 even at 85-90 speeds..

All i want to tell u is, just dont choose a bike from its mileage perspective, even with a big capacity bike u'll not be shelling that much extra for fuel (it'll be some 200-300 rupees/ month extra depending upon the kms u clock) but the riding experience what u get out of bigger machines will compensate for the price u pay!!!
Just for a comparo, The Avenger can cruise at 90-100 all day long but the same speed will be a at the stress zone of the uni, i'm not telling that uni will complain at these speeds just that u'll feel a lot more comfortable doing 100 on an avy than doing 100 on a uni...
    Fun Starts at Redline!!!

lol.. nice 2 kno bout dat lil story of ur frnd's Hunk trailin behind ur P180.. honestly bro, I do respect Pulsars just for their raw power.. ther is nothin lik it ( TVS apache apart
Well said bout d mileage issues, coz i dont see myself doin more the 500 kms a month so it wud not burn a huge hole in my pockets even if i go 4 a P220 over Unicorn..
To sum it up, I wud like 2 thank u since now i wud not give mileage a top priority while choosing my bike

If you can go for the P220, there is nothing like it this side of 1L.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

That is something only you can answer! I can say that, you will get used to it in a few days. If you are being rash or careless on these bikes, you are asking for trouble.

Lol ... 220 is easy to ride buddy . it takes 2 weeks to adjust to any bike . u seem strong enough for 220 and if u can manage the lower Mileage around 35-40 n price then it is the best .

Uni/hunk/cbz - all r same .uni just gives 4-5 mileage more but is slow ,older looking and is kinda uncle type bike . ur young go for the CBZ or Hunk

              Yo peace!

                +100 for that,
You need to be a sane and responsible rider, Its not difficult to handle these machines at all (Many have graduated from Puny 150cc to 1000cc bikes), you'll be getting used to it within matter of days.. Be careful for the initial days and u'll be mastering the machine soon...
if you ride them very rashly or in a rather careless manner, u sure will pay for it heavily as they are not as forgiving as their smaller counterparts!!!
All the very best choosing the bike!!!

oh HH cbz or Humk?? further U say P220 is best bet so in dat case hw about a HH karizma?? I'm always more inclined towards HH then Bajaj. Karizma aint that good as new P220 but surely i cud wait a couple of months & get my hands on a new HH karizma. Wat say?

Lets say I was never a rash rider, may b a bit insane ( Who wud'nt b insane by the sweet roaring exhaust notes of Pulsar brothers or a Apache) Further if its a P220, I bet its hard 2 resist d temptation of givin a full twist of right hand much often. Anyways I hav no idea of skipping my initial run-in period of any bike that i buy, so atleast 4 that 1000 or 1500 km, I will get settled decently on d machine.. Thereafter its a tought bet. Not that I'm a rough rider or a stunt junkie, its jus s adrenaline rush 2 top that speedo jus once (& then continue 2 beat ur personal record each time )

Hey Mitz .. first of all .. please use multi quote feature rather than multiple posts .. it's easy just use "+ button instead of "Quote button.

Second on Avenger front .. 3 of my friends (from 5'3" to 5'11") bought Avenger in last one year. And coincidently all three learnt riding a bike(they knew cycle and gearless scooters before that) on this bike. Now they had mastered it, use it fantastically in bangalore's traffic. As per them, bike is great, comfy, commuting upto 15km can't be more comfy than this. All of them are getting mileage b/w 35-43kmpl.

Moreover, all of them bought this bike just because their hearts said so .. because they were not a biker before and just got struck by it's style, comfy quotients ..
Unfortunately all of them are not on this forum, else you could talk to them.

As for the new Zma, I thought you had budget constraints!

                              @chauhan_saurabh,
I was jus about 2 ask dis 2 sum1 hw 2 send multiple replies.. so thnx 4 d solution..

& yeah really damn serious co-incidences.. I'm almost in similar position 2 that of ur frnds (only i kno a bit more bout geared motorcycles ). Further I wud jus like 2 kno if there are any serious maintenance issues (like v need in other cruisers viz, Bullet, RD 350 etc ). I'm ok wit 35-40 on mileage front coz i wont b travelling much

                              @abhijeet080808
Dude, I can afford 75 k by now.. but a couple of months more & sure I can go upto 80-85 k if its worth the wait.. But pls dont suggest me R15 coz 2 b frank, I'm not d biggest fan of R15(both in terms of looks & performance) P220 has a bit edge over R15 in my heart.. & always more respect 4 ZMA then R15

                                Had the same confusion...

                                I settled with uni...
                                things stopped me from avenger
-initial cost (diference of 10k = 200litres of petrol = 1.5 years of uni run)
                                -maintenance cost
-running cost (mileage...just imagine)(now 200++litres diff) (with that difference money u can run uni for 2+ years)
-reliability ( u know wat wud I say here)
I have driven avenger (friend's)- very comfi- the city drive wil get easier when used (as some one said earlier) feels like riding a car....but y do u want to feel like riding a car when u get a car for the same price (nano or 2nd hand alto or...)
                                thats my personal opinion.
Many times I have gone by heart (choices) and felt for it. The drive and craze for ur avenger wil end up the moment u buy it or sometime later. The resistance is because u have lot of oponents and u like challenges (no offense)
come out of it - be practical... and listen to what ur mind says.....I also considered GS150 which while test drive reminded me the comfi of avenger....
                                happy perplexing......
