Go for the P220 it will be the best deal for you.
    1) P220 is a tough bike with better torque
    2) Stability at higher speeds will be a bit less than FZ..but a bit can be as equal as none.Handling is almost equal ..except the handles
    3) I had rode both of them but sumhow i liked the P220..So go for it.

You should listen when a Yamaha fan and rider writes all this

If you want better suited replies.. and not a 220 V/S FZ Mahabharat.. please indulge more facts about yourself like:
        1) Your Height
        2) Usage Highway %, City %
        3) Usage Commuting %, Touring %
        4) Upgrade Proportions(WRT P150) (Handling upgrade only / Handling + Power Upgrade)

If you consider these points carefully yourself.. you wouldn't need a "What Bike" thread..

BTW, whatever you do eventually buy, please also buy good riding gear + helmet and wear them...

^ Don't you think its just the budget + looks which has made him narrow down on these 2 which are world apart in terms of performance.

That way Zma/Fazer should also have been on the list

                Hey everyone ...

Again a noob doubt of mine...

This time I was wondering.. if anyone could make a list of the pros of the best bikes ..

Like.. most of the xbhpians say that unicorn and gs150r are very good for touring and so is the zma... why do u guyzz say that ?? What is in them that gives them an edge over their competitors like... is it engine refinement..., suspension, tyres, or something else ..

The bikes for which I would want the pros would be ...

                Royal Enfields ..
                FZ-series
                ZMA
                Unicorn
                Apache
                GS150R
                R15
                CBF Stunner

Please guyzz... help me !! This question... has been messing all around in my mind since a few weeks !! and now m dying to get its answer !!

The urge triggered when I read about a P220 with an R15 fairing... and a monoshock ..

So I was thinking.. that if we could take the best parts of the best bikes and put them all in the P220 we may get the best bike around in the country ... I chose P220 coz of its power and top speed !!

Also one more thing... which Indian bike offers the best response, acceleration, and pickup... ?? [include all... ZMA, P220, R15, FZS, RX100, RX135, Unicorn ... all !! ]

I know it may not be the best thread to post this.. but I thought it is a good one... and if you find this doubt unappropriate for here... then, please tell me where to post this ??

                  Congrats for the final choice!
Pickup of P220 is gud but top speed is matched by R15 and R15 would be 5 times more stable and confident on the top whacks.

P220 and P200 is best in acceleration and initial pickup closly followed by R15 and RTR 180.

Thats because of easy touring riding posture, ease in riding, engine refinment (though R15 is on par in the engine depot.), suspension, can be ridden on any road, good handling, rare issues etc! Etc!

Cons - riding posture, issues with bike, suspension on bad roads, low end torque, aftersales service.

Well you re right you have some really nood questions but what the hel every one was noob at some point and are noobs on topics that we do not have expertise on. Not that I am an all knowing expert in the field of Indian motorcycles but cos of my passion I ve figured some stuff out over the years. Pros and Cons:

                      Royal Enfields

                      Pros:
                      • Nothing to beat this machine when it comes to long distance riding. It's built for endurance and the comfort in long drives.
                      • Offers amazing road presence just like their ad campain used to say "Everyone makes way for the bullet" is very true.
                      • Is in a clsss of it's own.
                      Cons:
                      • Has reliabilty issues and needs a lot of attention to maintain.
                      • Having a wet clutch (the old cast iron engine) in traffic and hot days the clutch can become dicey and give you a lot of hassle.
                      • The same exclusivity factor that is a pro can prove to be a situation of "Riding a high horse on a lonely island"
                      FZ-series

                      Pros:
                      • Looks
                      • Handling
                      • Low and Mid range grunt
                      • The extra wide Rear tyre
                      • Quality Yamaha workmanship
                      • Has all the makings of a cult classic like the RX Series.
                      Cons:
                      • Lack of Top end performace
                      • I feel it needs an extra gear
                      • Mileage
                      • Little bit on the expensive end.
                      ZMA

                      Pros:
                      • Great proven tourer
                      • Comfort and refinement
                      • Good pickup and pulling power
                      • Superb Suspension
                      Cons:
                      • Expensive parts
                      • Looks cos of the jazzy graphics
                      • Sold as a sports bike but is a great tourer and comes from a dirt bike legacy so its a bit of a confused entity (Well this is my opinion)
Any more cons i mention the pro kariZMA brigade will be on a witch hunt for the Yamahatrooper :P. And me being a follower of the Budha detest violence so no more about the kariZMA.

                      Unicorn

                      Pros:
                      • Renowned Honda reliabilty and refinement
                      • Enhanced handling cos of the monoshock
                      • Great fuel efficiency
                      • Decent power.
                      Cons:
                      • Plain Vanilla looks except for the GP series
                      • Needs a better service network
                      • Long delivery times of new bikes
                      • Though a very special bike it is positioned as a boring commuter and this has affected the brand image.
                      Apache

                      Pros:
                      • Outright power across the REV range
                      • Handles like it's on rails
                      • Radical looks and colours
                      • I see no chinks in it's armor
                      Cons:
                      • Could do with a better headlamp design the present one looks like a normal commuter bike.
                      • Vibrations.
                      • Needs better marketting
                      GS150R

                      Same as the Unicorn

                      R15

                      Pros:
                      Yamaha R series 'DNA'
MotoGP Derived Deltabox frame for excellent handling
                      Amazing top end
As far as I am concerned the only true sports bike to be built in India

                      Cons:
Lacks Verstality to be a everyday ride.

                      CBF Stunner

Dunno much about this bike honestly.

Disclaimer: Honestly dont mean to start any contreversies here, just typing down my thoughts on the above mentioned bikes. If someone thisnks otherwise, they have every right to.
