i am a little concerned over your decision mate..i mean you dont have bike experience before and having a premium bike as your 1st one is a little doozy.for your height and weight i think 220 will be a bit of a problem in tight situations...sitting on the bike in showroom and seeing if your height suits you well is different from the actual riding scenario...you need to use your height, weight muscle and all available senses and parts to overcome any obstacle.
i would advice you to go for fz 1st as its a learners bike cause of its awesome handling....but again many cant buy a bike and sell it and buy again...so if you have decided on the p220 i also suggest you to ride smaller bikes first and learn how to control and assess the situations of daily traffic...then use for 220...also according to your posts i see you are in a raring mood to road race which is not good.please refrain from it.
220 is a big bike...you have to be careful with it by not injuring yourself and others.for your profile i would suggest you a180I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL

LOL.... Hope that doesnt happen man.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostHehe.. make sure that the situation does not reverse! Your dad uses it for 6 days a week, you get only a day!
The 15-20 kms i will do in a day is all 5 lane road with no jams or anything much. I mean i wont have to negotitate in heavy traffic for atleast a month till i get a license. Well from 8 bhp to 21 bhp is indeed a big jump but i do get Disc brakes with itOriginally posted by satan69in View Posti am a little concerned over your decision mate..i mean you dont have bike experience before and having a premium bike as your 1st one is a little doozy.for your height and weight i think 220 will be a bit of a problem in tight situations
. Have a year of exp riding Activa (120 kgs 30 less than 220) and a little of Platina too.
I cant buy a bike and sell it next year and get a 220 or 250cc Pulsar theni would advice you to go for fz 1st as its a learners bike cause of its awesome handling....but again many cant buy a bike and sell it and buy again...so if you have decided on the p220 i also suggest you to ride smaller also according to your posts i see you are in a raring mood to road race which is not good.please refrain from it.
, may go abroad after a year or so. Resale of Yamaha bikes- less said the better. Yest got to ride my brother's 220FI, he returned from US and got to ride in his supervision only. Weight diff wasnt much i guess, did a 5-6 km run. U turn i felt was tough in that but can manage i think. Was almost impossible to put the bike on that road scraping centre stand. Heavy heavy.
Thats why am aggressive towards booking it soon as most of my doubts are cleared now.
Road race-- with whom? Dwarka where i live is full of Activas and Scooty peps. Havent spotted a single 220 on road till now.
Have already saved 6k for a good helmet and gloves as riding gear so am a responsible biker. Dont think an Activa cant go fast, it will give many 120-150 cc bikes a run for their money till about 50-60kph. Have kept the scooter scratchless in a year of possession, have a full face STudds helmet, i ride fast mostly at 50-60 (redline for Activa lol) but ride safe with no zigzagging and all. Also no challan till now. Hehe
Agreed. I was bent towards a180 but a delhi owner is himself selling off his rtr180 due to poor servicing by TVS guys. How can i go forward by taking a risk? If i am not able to ride the 220, dad is there, he is mad over it220 is a big bike...you have to be careful with it by not injuring yourself and others.for your profile i would suggest you a180
, 13 years old biking ghost in him has woken up.
Ok, going for a last few rides of my Activa before i sell it off.

Going tomorrow to get my PEE 220
First,
A big THANKS to all for your replies and help in finalising a 220 for me.
Am going tomorrow morning to pay bal amt and get my BLACK 220 home. Am taking my Activa along as the evaluator said he will give in between 20-25k. Lets see, not able to digest this price so a bit confused. He will see the Scooter and xchange it for what he thinks its worth for.
So very excited- wont be able to sleep today
, tomorrow is my day...
@ OTHERS
As i will make the remaining payment tomorrow and get the bike which will be registered next day. If i find any issues in bike alloted to me, can i choose other one from the lot or PBK will assign the bike (which cant be changed) at payment time. Askin to be on safe side.Last edited by coolboy007; 10-24-2009, 08:38 PM.

29k
Mine is 4 year old black color (scratched panel on left side), done only 4300 kms, after hearing 4300 kms he said i will get in between 20-25k which is much better than what my mechanic was giving.
After reading your msg, i have high hopes that a bit of my dad's money will be saved tomorrow

Hope so.Originally posted by ajslave View Posti think it should be easy getting 25k for a 4300 kms old activa..
and i understand, even i'd go mad if they promise us to deliver but choose to go and 'bless' couples.
reading through the 220 thread has prepared me for all sorts of $h1t, though
The evaluator on phone quoted anywhere between 20-25, upon seeing it he will give exact price.
Lets see, i would complain about that salesman to bajaj after i get my bike along with the manager.
All plans for today cancelled
, going in car, coming back in car. Sob Sob...

WORST PBK of DELHI IS PBK VASANT VIHAR
,
I entered and met the manager Mishra, told him ki you should have not misguided me and told lies about giving delivery.
He said "the lot we have recieved has carburettor problems" and a thorough PDI will be done before we give delivery. I didnt do booking and will not buy a bike from this chor PBK. I told him i will make a formal complaint to Bajaj, he said "Thank you"
Sending a mail to Bajaj and if they dont respond, i may not buy the bike itself. If a co cant protect its consumer's respect then theres no reason it should sell its product.
Ok, will head to CP PBK, meet Bandhav and leave it on him on whatever he wana do. Whatever time the Black 220 takes i am ready.
Very bad day.
Will emailing Bajaj help or its a waste of time?

Sent a mail to BAJAJ, awaiting response.
Dear Bajaj customer care,
I visited Vasant Vihar PBK, New Delhi on OCT 18,2009 and got a quotation in name of my mother via Q no : 00000345xx for a Pulsar 220 via Salesman - Rashid. I called the salesman Rashid on 23 Oct, 2009 that i will pay full amount of 75000 in cash on Sun and when will i get delivery? To which he replied that if i pay the whole amount on Sun morning, he will make sure i get the bike same evening or at max next day.
Today with full cash in my hand, i entered Vasant Vihar PBK and what a shocker i get. The salesman is on leave for his brother's marriage. He told me to come on Sun and he himself has taken a leave which he failed to inform me KNOWINGLY as marriages arent fixed in a day. Outright unprofessionalism by the salesman.
I met the manager Mr. Mishra who was busy with a customer shouting at him for making him wait for past 20 mins without any progress for his booking. I told him to take cash, give delivery challan and i will take the bike home. He said "CURRNT LOT OF P220" has got some problems which company officials will come to rectify and he cant deliver the bike for next 4-5 days. I became angry and told him that he should have atleast informed me as i came from 40 kms with 75000 cash and still cant get the bike. Isthis a truth or story by the Bajaj PBK about bikes having problem.
Mr. Mishra is a very arrogant and shameless man, he has no respect for customers at all. When i told him that i will complain with Bajaj, he said "Thank you, it doesnt matter to me". I went to buy a premium bike from No1 2 wheeler manufacturer of the country after spending 75000 that too downpayment and this is the respect i get like am trying to get a bike for free. Very bad.
It would have been better had the 220's been available at local dealers, they are much better in attitude. PBK is all about nice looking showrooms with useless people appointed by you. I have put my plans to buy a 220 on hold until "YOU TAKE SOME ACTION" against these people. If i get this kind of service before paying money, what would i get in after sales service when my 75k are blocked and serv centre bullies me? No use buying something from mfr who takes you for granted.
Awaiting response from Bajaj cust care asap.
Thanks
Rajat Sharma

Try to keep your bike as good as U can bcoz U are now fully aware for Sales response from PBK guys, U should expect the same quality of response from Service-part as well bcoz Bajaj company never handles this issues seriously & same is the reason that all over India, every Pulsar owner is suffering from heart-attaches of bad service levels.
Rajiv Bajaj, plz help us with this post-sales & service issues or else shut down these PBK showrooms in all cities & open new Bajaj service centres fully owned & runned by your dedicated engineers from Akurdi.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world

If I were you ,...I would have waited for 5 days, make sure I get good bike free from issues (assuming PBK guy is honest). For a cross check I would have requested the PBK to let know the arrival of Bajaj personnel so that you could have personally seen the issues yourself and what rectification they do.......
Anyways PM Bandhav to know if the 'story' is true or not ? @bandhav bhai - your take ? what are the issues which Bajaj want to rectify ?
