Comfortable seating posture, 125 odd horses, 10.5kg/m of torque(!!), and looks that could murder - what else does one need, really. On top of it all, like Sunny mentioned, you save loads of money, Rs.3,50,000/- to be precise. Moreover, you say you like touring; touring on a Superbike will kill your bike eventually, whereas the CB is the perfect tool for touring, really!

However, if you are stuck between the Fireblade and the R1, I would say it's a tough choice. But, I would definitely go with the 2010 R1.

i am a novice in this dept...but how can touring kill a sbk???

        HAPPY SHOPPING

hmmm.....so bottomline is r1 isnt good for my tours....and cr1000R is..got to think got to think...

heres another question...AFAIK or as far as my little knowledge goes,R1 has 18 litres tank capacity right...so i guess around 180kms for a full tank..where can i find high octane petrol in the middle of the highway????

Touring on good roads is heavenly with GSX-1300R, add a double bubble though

CB-1000R--wind blast, else it is purr-fect

is the 5th busa gonna roll out in xbhp this yr.......

suzuki must be keeping their fingers crossed

but on a serious side since i think ur a beginner at superbikes or hyperbikes

busa may not be a bad idea its sitting position is a lil bit better than all of the above a perfect sports tourer and the pillion rider is also comfortable

sitting height is also the lowest although for me all are ok 5-10

not only that its has a power mode selector with 3 options so u can gradually unravel the beast within this beauty or keep it sedated

furthermore...... it helps in traffic also

But yes it will definately loose on a track racing

but tours on the highways.... good luck catching this falcon

well i will definately agree with sunny and aryan u dont wanna be uncomfortable for next 4-6 hrs of drive on a highway.......

already heat , dust And stupid drivers are frustating enough

just wondring 5 busas..... 1 highway....... cruising .......WHAT A SITE !!!!

                  @ Satan

Shortlist on your priorities (i am no sbk rider)
I mean as Sunny said rightly, time to move away from full fairings, and look
at what best suits you and your purpose.

also the saved 3.5l will take care of all servicing, akrapovic exhausts
and many more ad-dons and falls if any

                  BUT YEA

Over all of it, take decision such that there will be NO REGRETS in future

Please suggest which one is good option. I'm based out of Pune & Delhi

                      R1:
Favour: Nice Looks, Good exaust, lot of features on the front Panel LED display, Good Service network, Switch Throttle modes A & B (2010 version) like Hybusa
Issues: Wait until late-Jan or check on some 2nd hand 2008 model

                      FireBlade:
Favour: Good Looks, C-ABS, HEDS, Turn indicator on the mirror
Issues: Honda Service Network, Some issues in the bike based on some review comments from FireBlake-Kolkatta, Exaust, no fendor on the back tyre, less features on the front panel

                      Many Thanks in advance.
                      Yash
Sir Ducati SBK 848 evo is not an ounce less exciting....10,000 times sexier and rs.30,000 cheaper then both these bikes...

Both R1 and Fireblade are some of the finest machines on the planet. In fact their level of refinement in performance is so high that my skills will never be able to come close to appreciate fully what its all about. So if my mind is set on a sports bike, and have narrowed down my choice on these two. I would leave out the performance bit out of the equation and focus on which one I "Like more", then see if any one of them has service problem in my city.

Personally I prefer the styling of Fireblade.

This is not a rounded review but some thoughts on the matter purely from my experience on the bikes.

                            2008 version:

                            One word: HOOLIGAN!

Power delivery is great. If your the type who likes to be a bit hard on the throttle expect wheel spins and power-wheelies easily in lower gears! Fuel efficiency is good. I had one with me for quite sometime earlier this year during which i managed to put in a lil' more than a few hundred kms on it including a fair share of highway rides! The heat is quite bad on your thighs. In a place like Mangalore, riding the bike in summer meant that I've managed to burn my thighs quite a bit when i got stuck for 30 mins in a jam and the traffic moved at a snails pace (even after wearing thick jeans). It served as an alternative for my R15 during for a brief period so it wasn't a very pleasant experience during peak hour traffic jams on the highway while the sun was at it's highest. Count the heat under you and your riding gear on you, you'll need a few liters of water for every hour on the bike! (But I'm sure you wont be commuting on it) Other than that It's a great bike. VFM and so much fun to ride..much more than I can describe! Handles very well and the Michelin Pilot Powers did quite a good job as far as the grip was concerned! It loves to rev and sounds amazing even on stock exhausts! Expect the bike to cool down quickly once you get upto speed. The fun factor makes it worth the little trouble of having to deal with the hot deltabox frame. But if you are on roads where you can cruise even at 80kph or lower it will run cool enough during summers. And one quick burst usually gets the coolant temperature down quickly.

                            2010 R1

Handling is just fantastic even on stock rubber. It's nimble and under throttle while cornering it remains planted. You don't feel the sense of speed as you would on the 2008. The only time you'll realize that your doing 220+ is when you look at the speedo (if your used to doing highspeeds). Somehow felt the 2008 was more Raw, perhaps i need more saddle time on the 2010 R1. The power deliverly felt a bit smoother. But can this bike accelerate or what! I had the bike with me for a short ride but it was enough to test it in all 3 modes and on straights and corners and it was just awesome. It can corner at 200+ better than the old one can ever do. Sounds amazing and enough has been said about it. It may appeal to you or may not but I certainly love it. Acceleration as I felt was quicker over the old one. Didnt have it for too long to evaluate it during roll ons, speeds in each gears and other parameters and the older 08 wasn't available at the time for comparison. The riding position is more or less compared to the 2008 is quite comfortable. Infact i felt it was better as far as riding hard and throwing it into corners was concerned. When this one gets hot you may not like it. Riding it felt quite like riding a 600 with a LOT more power and the bike almost handles like one...! It's heavier than it's predecessor but it won't make you feel that it is.

I've been on the 2008 quite comfortably a couple of times as a pillion. This one gave me a cramp on my leg trying to get on it.

A mode is super FUN!. The bike is insanely quick in A mode. You have to experience it. The throttle response in this mode is lightning fast. Under full throttle this bike just moves so quickly that you'll be shifting to higher gears in no time at all. Also I found the 2010 less prone to wheelies with your weight on the tank.

STD or Standard Mode is a good compromise although the engine response ain't the same as in A mode. It will still pull hard once it gets to power.

B mode is something I loved riding the bike in. The low end power felt smoother and controlled and great to ride in the city traffic.

The reviews are quite spot on for the 2010 R1.

Haven't ridden the CBR 2010 yet. So can't comment on that just yet. The new CBR has been growing on me recently. Cant wait to get my hands on one

Our fireblah can give you a very balanced review of the two bikes. He owns both.

Have fun with whichever bike you choose to get. I personally like the blue color on the R1. Both the bikes I rode were blue and I'm in love with them

My friend has Honda fireblade....i personally dont like its looks Specially the nose is roundish...i personally dont like it. even Bike India when they reviewed it said it has the worst looks but good engine. I agree while riding i personally(i am just a simple rider without any knowledge of any sorts) found honda little refined...the engine response the noise were all like a sophisticated lady Whereas R1 screams like a sexy *****(R6...the loudest and seductive)

I would always go for R1...specially the 2010 R1 white and grey looks yummy. But not yet seen it in flesh.

So now its you who has to decide...technologically wise if ur not into racing...Honda or Yamaha wont matter....so if i were in your place who is buying for the pleasure of owning a sportsbike...then i would not take the reviews into consideration but rather go in for the best lookng bike.

                              Cheers
