  • 125cc bike dilemma -Suzuki zeus 125 (or) HH Glamour

My younger brother in chennai wants to buy 125cc bike for mainly city riding.he is new in riding bikes.he use to ride scooters only previously.just a week before he started riding bike.he is 5 feet 9inch tall and weighs 71 kg.
Budget: 48,000 to 54000(not more than that)

    Requirements:
1.city riding (ocassional long ride -say less than 100km-once in a month)
    2.mileage (45-55) would be enough
    3.disc brake,self start & alloy
4.good level of low end torque for a 125 cc(riding around with a pillion)
5.concerned about drivability in low speeds say (40-55 km/hr) not concerned about top speed
6.he got very bad experience with his scooter having engine problems & throwing tantrums on him often.so obviously a good engine with durability is necessary.
7.he will use this bike for atleast 3 years & not worried about resale value at all.
At present we have chosen suzuki zeus and hero honda glamour.comparison or even other bike suggestions also would be desirable.

at last,he sold his scoot and badly in need of a bike for conveyance.will book bike within a week.so please we need your suggestions asap.

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

CBF Stunner would suit your requirements perfectly, except in price. Shine fits the bill perfectly, even price too. I am surprized that you did not include Honda products in the list.

If you want to choose only between Glamour and Zeus, both are equally good. For better after sales, go for Glamour.

Stunner and Shine are good city bikes with faster 0-60 figures than Zeus and Glamour. If you do not hate Honda, gor for any one of these.

Both are no-nonsense bikes...do test/borrow drive the bikes befor taking up a decision,,,,also check out aftersales support of both bikes close to your home...

Zeus : Superb engine, superb low end torque, better spread of torque and speed due to 5 gears...good for higway cruising as well.

HH Glamour : Superb engine, HH reliability and superior service network, 4 speed good for city drive with less gear change, better resale.

                Zeus 9/10; HH Glam 8.9/10 !!

@fullmoon- These two bikes can fit your specificaion
                  1. CBF STUNNER
                  2. YAMAHA GLADIATOR

                  Reason-
Stunner have got the looks and also give a feel of big bike. Honda have acquired a good name in the Indian market because of its engine and mileage factor.
Gladiator is the bike that made way for Yamaha n India. Superb bike with a handsome mileage.

                  Other options-
                  Honda Shine, Zeus too...
