  • Upgrade from an FZ-16 to P220...huh???

    Hi guys,
I am in a huge dilemma now...need you guys help coz i am confused like HELL...
My current ride is an FZ16 and i love every bit of it...
    The ride...the feel...the what not???
It was a smooth sail until now....No problems with the bike per se....

But a friend of my friend is selling off his carb P220....he's leaving town....
So he's ready to give me the month old bike for 5000 less....maybe more less...Its not even run 500km....

So what i want you guys to suggest me "Is it worth it"
i mean i will have to sell my FZ for less now...But should I???

You all know the reliability and smoothness of the FZ engine...
    The perfect looks....amazing build quality.....everything in a 150cc....
    The overall package is awesome...
But i am tempted by the thought of a 220....
Alas its a Pulsar and i am in doubt...So i need your help....

I am totally confused now coz both these bikes are of different class but even then i end up comparing them....
So please dont tell me not to compare and give a good decision....
    cheers

The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

If your fz is selling for 60000 and you get to pay 10000 more for the new 220.I think its like picking up of gold. For my choice go for it!!!!!!!!.....but it depends because if you loves your bike very much then at the time of selling it you surely change your decision ,therefore it simply your choice that which bike you like more.If i am in your place i surely go for 220 because 7 bhp and big bike look does matter.

          Very tough choice.

If I were in your shoes, I would be thinking of:

          1. Am I tourer or a city rider with occasional Highway runs
          2. Reliability in the long run
          3. After Sales, Maintenance, ease of use, comfort
          4. Resale value.
          5. Vibrations (Overall quality)
          6. Your personal fun factor.

Give points to each of the above and you will have a winner. All the best.

+1. This is the first and foremost point you need to think about before you go ahead. Coz the bike u currently have is one of the best city tools. P220 is a very capable tourer and you can live with it in the city as well. So sort this out first and then go ahead with your choice.

think about all aspects of ur life....how much are u unsatisfied with the fz???

how does the pulsar220 help changing that part of the problem???

Do you want to replace the fz all together or do u want to retain the fz for city and the pulsar for long drives.???

Keep the thought of fuel economy and cost of maintainance and the re-sale value also in mind...

                  Best of luck !!!

Go ahead with 220 deal... U already HAD tasted blood with FZ, its time U move up with power upgrade & carb-220 is more refined & well-sorted out unlike older generations pulsar family. I too own a FZ with 12k on odo, to say frankly I enjoyed every-bit of it right from its 1st sighting around Mar-Apr '08 but now I also own ZMA & 200... after riding 200, riding posture changes completely & I feel FZ is like some 100cc bike bcoz of its less weight & 14bhp....

220 will be BETTER CHOICE & u will not regret this later, if u can manage cash...then keep both... If now, out goes FZ & bring home 220... Last but not the least "MILEAGE FACTOR IS ALMOST SIMILAR TO FZ"
You must be the change you wish to see in the world

the 220 will give you immense power and fuel efficiency would depend on the way you ride.. but expect nutting less than 38.. 40 is pretty normal.. for more info check the p220 dtsi ownership thread..
all i can say a 220 is far and way better than the fz16..

The 220 is a lovely machine with so much to offer , but with adjustments.

If you want to ride a bike and "Feel happy and smile about the ride enjoyed" Keep the FZ.Nothing like it.

Go for the 220. You won't get a better offer than this. You'll surely feel an upgrade from your fz in terms of power.
