Royal Enfield 350
Hi,
I pressume that you are looking at selection between classic 500 and a NEW Royal Enfield 350 (Electra UCE / Standard UCE etc)
It really would depend on multiple things -
1. Individual's taste - I personally like the Standard Bullet 350 look much more than the Classic (and for that matter even Electra).
2. Use - I mean whether you would be using the motorcycle on highways or in city too. I feel that with 28NM of torque and around 20 BHP, Bullet 350 (Be it classic 350, Standard 350 UCE or Electra UCE) would be enough.
3. Technology - While I appreciate that CL500 is technologically much more advanced (with fuel injection etc), I feel that this technology in RE is yet to be proved. The advantages and / or disadvantages would be clear only after a while from now. Again - My preference goes to 350.
One more example in this - As per RE website, the Standard UCE comes with same Carburetor that has been used in CI bullets. While Electra 350 or Classic 350 have a CV carb - which according to experts improves the overall mileage, I have got some mixed feedback on that. E.g. mechanics are generally reluctant to clean up the CV carb...
4. Wait time - As far as I know, RE have stopped taking bookings for Classic 350 untill Dec-10. Which means, even if I want, I will not get a Classic 350 untill March -April -2011. I feel this is toooo much of wait. This itself would be decision making criteria for many....
PS: Standard or Electra UCE has a wait period of 3 months in Pune.
BTW - I do not own a bullet, but am planning to book one next month (considering that the rainy reason will be over by the time I get the delivery - somewhere in Oct-10).
I hope this 2cents info would be of at least some help to you.
Cheers!
Anand

Further update on carburetor of Bullet 350 UCE ...
Further update on carburetor of Bullet 350 UCE ...
Got it confirmed from a Marketing Manager of RE that Bullet 350 UCE also comes with UCAL / BS29 carburetor only...
With this, my decision is simple and straight forward - it's going to be - Standard 350 UCE.
Cheers!

@knigt rider,
I suggest that you search the forum before creating new threads.
Existing threads:
The Std.350 does not come with Electric Start and Disc Brakes.
Apart from the design and colors, there is not much difference between the Electra/Classic and Standard in terms of Engine and mechanicals.

Well, I believe Std 350 UCE and Electra UCE both will have similar mileage - in range of 35 to 45 kmpl.Originally posted by ATHUL4R View Postis electra or std bullet has decent milage, anand said that electra has more milage, is that true?
Milege of C350 would be slightly lower.
