hehe....i just want to know experiences of RTR and P180 owners of their respective bikes in terms of maintenance and overall quality of parts and build quality. And currently, my main concern is the RTR's sitting posture. I don't want it to ruin my touring.

As far as Pulsar 180 is concerned, I have had no major issues till the date apart from some small niggles. The bike is good and doesnot feels strained even after riding at 90-100kmph continuously and most important thing is that the stability is awesome adding to that no vibrations(almost) at higher speeds. Go for P180 if you will be touring alot as it's parts will be available easily and Bajaj have a good SC network too. Talking about the reliability factor then IMO both bikes will be equally good if regularly serviced and checked.

In my place most of the roads are 4 laned, now. I did it on Indore-Bhopal 4-Lane and the distance was 200kms. Most of the time 90-100kmph was maintained and I covered that distance in 2.5Hrs. Any doubt about it?

              R15 is a stable motorcycle, isn't it?

^The contact patch remains almost the same in a straight line on a 100 section or a 180 section tire(relatively) and the lesser chicken stripes* you have on a road, the better you are

I know all this is true but I'm really concerned about long rides. If you have been touring, please tell me if the sporty sitting posture of the RTR creates any problems for the rider during the long rides.
by the way which city are you from?

Had been to the TVS as well as Bajaj showroom today. It was raining cats and dogs so couldn't get a TD at either. The white pearl RTR 180 has really caught my eye but I'm worried about its durability, long ride comfort and parts availability. I need to book the bike in 4 days so RTR owners please lend me your helping hand and throw some light here. Also, I heard that there are vibrations at around 5k rpm on the RTR. Are they very annoying or can be ignored? I am also considering the P180 so please help me out here as I'm in a very bad dilemma.
Also, does the pearl white of the RTR fade away or become dull later?

                  The costs:-
                  RTR 180 - 77.5k
                  RTR 160 - 68.8k
                  Pulsar 150 - 73.5k
                  Pulsar 180 - 76.5k

I have said it and say again, Go for RTR if you are not alot into touring (70-30) i.e. commuting. Otherwise if you tour alot then Pulsar 180 is a good choice over RTR.

yes go for white...it doesn't fade....MRF tires are better then Apache stock tires..but first drive the bike on stock tires and then decide...

My comparison between P180 and RTR180

I tried to fathom all bad possibilities before fixing on P 180.
P 180 does not have a kick rod, that was the major issue running across my mind and I have done all possible researches on it.
Found that there are very rare cases where people face problem with the starter in P 180 UG 4. I also checked for the different issues peopl have with RTR 180, and found that count of negative points are more!
I guess I care for my bike too much to have it as my companion for quite a many years.
Again why did I choose P180 over RTR180:
P180 is more stable, I have touched 130 KMPH but did not feel vibration that RTR owners complain after crossing 100 + (not all though)
P 180 has much better mileage than RTR180
RTR 180 has rear brake. I dont agree that we Indians are still okey with rear brake (there are many who rides always with the break lever pressed, proof is the rear red brake light!) and it looks dangerous too. Imagine a hard braking. I guess P180 delivers pretty good rear braking with the drums and is more than what is required. I am not a racer to race in city all the time.
I did not like (personal choice) the white and yellow RTRs either.
Bajaj has their service centers everywhere, but TVS does not have.
RTR comes with TVS tire, where P180 comes with far more reliable MRF.

Off course, the starting proble is yet to be experienced and once I face that, I guess it will be few years (yes, that is the confidence I have with my P 180).
To conclude, I have bought this Pular 180 UG 4 with my own money and so I had to do extensive research before the final call and all the above experience, views are purely personal and no body should be offended reading this.
