i have seen many good reviews of GS150
considering your height, it should be a good option alongside honda dazzler
pulsar is also one of the best indian bikes, but at the same time the mostly seen bike on roads and is very common(no offense)
my personal suggestion would be GS 150 and Uni Dazzler

Buddy u need some serious studies........Don't just think about bikes all day.... Don't become an embarrasment to ur family.
What a math you did almost failed newton..

hey, its not that i compared 135cc with 135kg of our body weight. I just meant that power developed by 135cc may not be sufficient to pull our mass at good speed. The max torque is also achieved at 7500 rpm which is kinda high to be ridden in city traffic. ~135 kg is the minimum weight, what if me and my bro sit or me and my dad? that would take it to 160 plus. Don't you think the engine will struggle to pull the weight of ours and bike as well?

Guys, i am worried about rusting and braking issues in GS150R. Is the problem solved? Today its gonna be a big day. Test rides of GS150R, Unicorn will be done. And if time permits of pulsar too.

          Hey bro,

Pulsar is the most VFM bike in this segment. I wouldn't suggest it for two reasons.
          1. You already had one and you say you are ready to go for a new one.
          2. Too many on roads.
Otherwise no problem. Go for it if you feel OK.

Go for Dazzler rather than the Unicorn. Modern gadgets and a bit more powerful. I guess Honda has given this bike whatever the Uni missed. Afterall it is an upgraded Unicorn. Mileage should be 50+ since it is the same engine from the Unicorn. Your father and brother will love the engine smoothness compared to the P150. Still I want inform you that it is a new product and may have some small niggles which will creep up after the bike has become popular in the market. Until then you may not know. But still, being a Honda I guess the bike will be reliable and comfortable.

GS is my vote. Very good bike. Has a 6-speed gearbox which will boost the mileage up(55+). Looks very nice and will be comfortable. The engine will be a smooth one here also. Only thing look out for the service. It isn't good at all places.

Hunk is also a worthy choice. Mileage should be around 50. Looks really great and bulky. Offers decent perfomance.

Your brother needs a well rounded bike with decent FE... how could he want n FZ. As per my knowledge my P220 gives the same mileage as my Buddy's FZ-S.

Logical selections here should be Unicorn, Dazzler, GS150R, P150

In the looks department + equipment, Unicorn loses hands down (I mean its the most dated of them all).

That leaves us with the following:
            1. Dazzler 14.1 PS :
+ The best looking with the best equipment levels, rear disc, good FE(based on unicorn experience)
            - No Pilot lamps, No pass light switch (Nagging but minor issues for ex pulsar owner)
            2. GS150R 13.8 PS :
+ Good FE, Good Highway Cruiser, 6th gear, modern gizmos(gear + ride-mode indicator)
            - Suzuki service not as widespread as Bajaj / TVS / HH, Poor headlamps(needs upgrade)
            3. Pulsar 150 15.04 PS :
+ Best performer of the lot, apart from that, a typical Pulsar, Jack of all trades.
            - You tell me, you have owned one a long time.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

              Thanks for your opinion.

My bro wants FZ, but dad wants a bike that has good power in city as well as fuel efficient. That's why this two factors are clashing causing debates in our home almost every couple of hours.

YAMAHA FZ - a very stylish bike but power couldn't stand up to the looks. not good for your father.
fz lacks power when u compare it with a 180 or 200cc+bikes.its a great torque machine,,,u can flip through traffic with ease with great braking capability,..and it can make all de above mentioned bike run for their money when it comes to real performance.

hey bro i dint mean to hurt you, this babe is really good but not VFM... I cannot spend 73000 for 150CC when bigger and better is available.. also its is not at all a bike for family.

Allow me to clarify the "gas" around FZ being low powered.

FZ has enough power for a 150CC bike, just that it has looks of a super star... and hence people expect a lot more.

It has one of the best handling in this category, and looks better than even some bigger bikes.

Saying FZ is underpowered is BS

Let me clarify here.. I never said FZ was underpowered. I just said is not as fuel efficient as the other 4 on my list.
The underpowered talk comes around the fact that FZ doesnt offer the same bhp/rupee as some of the others. But that doesn't mean that FZ is a bad bike. Its the most effortless city commuter i have ever enountered.

I am sure its not grossly underpowered and neither did I mention that anywhere, but i am sure its not as fuel efficient as other 150cc bikes. And this is where dad is getting a bit hyper. With fuel touching 50 rs / lt mark, serious consideration has to be given to FE.

Then I think you are stuck on the 3 options I gave you. All 3 are very good. Take a pick.. you wont regret it..

a new forced entry: The Stunner has made into the scenario. Courtesy: My bro.

Here is a brief review of all bikes done till now. The test rides have been done by my brother and father only. So this is their view. I have no say in it.

GS150R: All of them loved it (including mom who loved the pillon seat). Good pickup, Comfortable seats, silent engine. A waiting of minimum of 3 weeks.

Dazzler: My parents didn't like its look. Though they liked its engine - smooth and refined, comfortable ride with pillion. They felt it was pulling slowly compared to GS150R. I inferred they are not satisfied with its performance after riding pulsar 150 and GS150R.

Pulsar 150 Dtsi: They felt huge improvement compared to our bike - a 2003 150 dtsi. Not only in power, the refinement too. They liked the silent engine, good pickup, felt that they had to give more throttle to get to speeds which i deduce that it produces power at higher rpms since torque is now coming at higher rpms compared to 2003 150 dtsi.

FZ: A bit heavy for dad, Slow. Uncomfortable seat for pillion (mom). Dad isn't too excited about this. My bro likes it but is turned off by price and low fuel economy.

Hunk: Its a no non-sense bike. Parents didn't like the plastic quality. After riding dazzler and gs150r, this was rejected immediately.

Stunner: Bro owned it before for a brief period in Pune to make do for a stolen splendor, still likes it. Dad drove it for first time. He liked the looks, refined and smooth engine.

Decision is almost made. Unless some surprise comes up.

                          Any guesses?

Will reveal the final decision once the bike is booked(could be in couple of hrs or max by tmrw morning). So stay tuned.

Sorry for long post and not posting update for long time. was occupied with work.

I think, dazzler has better specs(read power to weight ratio) though can't comment on on-road performance.

This is the least heavy bike in the list . Fuel efficiency concerns are reasonable

Yes, but what happened during GS150R was they had to refuel after a short test ride because there was not sufficient fuel in tank and the bike was giving jerks. So i think when my father rode it, it must have been near to its dry weight which is 134kg. That's why they may have felt it a bit lighter compared to FZ because FZ had almost full tank which weight in at 140 kgs. This is what I am told after discussing with them about details of their test rides.

These rides made me think that dealer at Suzuki was trying to give a 'Lighter' GS150R to test ride so that it feels fast than what it really was. . I could be wrong too.

Regarding the speed, i would take their opinion on performance with pinch of salt since they weren't doing any 0-60 times. They were just riding like a normal biker would do. And that's what their comments are based on.
