Introduction
Hi,
I am Arthur Steele now living in Coimbatore. I have been rider for around 45 years and even though I own and drive cars, bikes are my first love.I started riding on my Dad's 650 Triumph Thunderbird till I got caught and was then given a James to muck about with. Right from the age of 12 or 13 I have been doing all my own maintainence and repair work including tinkering and painting.I prefer 4 stroke bikes over 2 strokes ones though I own both kinds.I rode [as a works rider] for Ideal Jawa in the 70's and then worked for Escorts on the RD350, Bajaj on the M50/ M80.
Now spend most of my time restoring the bikes in my collection and doing some work for close friends
Rode a Matchless 350 to Leh and Ladak during the late 70's and had to depend on the Army for petrol and provisions. I never had even one puncture on the trip but had to clean out the carb 2 or 3 times due to the dust in the petrol!!!!
I still love long rides but time and health do not permit me to do as many rides as I would like .
