pls do not even think of doing any sort of bike rally inside bangalore city, today i was at praveen soods office, he clearly told me not to take out ne bike rally as the court directive bans such activities on road, effective from last month after public outcry on some nuisance in the name of rally by some bike group. the organiser goes to jail for 7 days for such an offense, and no local police clearance will be valid unless signed by praveen sood himself.

I think a city ride on Independence day would be not appropriate. You guys should head somewhere near by (Kadamban or somplace) where there is enough place to park the bikes as well as enjoy. I dont see any aim fulfilled in riding under pressure in the city even if we manage to get permissions.Join xBhp On

Just spoke to hisunil about the ride plan. He is in favour of riding towards Sangam on Kanakapura Road. I suggested Kanva Dam but he wasn't quite sure whether it will be open for us. Last time we went there (long long ago) it was barricaded. Anyone been there recently?
So that's the plan. We meet at either Kanakapura Metro at 6.15 AM, or NICE Road on Mysore Road at 6.30 AM, depending on whether it's Sangam or Kanva Dam.

have been busy with 4x4 for a while (have bought a Trax Gurkha) & was planning to attend TPC10 in Chennai during 12-13-14-15 Aug but the plan is dropped, just now check the ID ride thread & nothing is finalized Yet!
Do not worry about the cops impression you for riding in a group with flags inside city!!! even the guy who blasted parliament is still under trial !! any way that OT
Just spoke to Akhil, Sree please call me in the evening I have lost you number with the iphone. My cell battery is dead now!!
Will post plan by EOD today after talking to Sree & John in the evening.
Most provably we will start from Shell Near UB city & head to Kanakapura road & have lien up pics near a lake enroute, food @ idli mane if not open @ kanakapur & twords Sangama, en route attend a flag hoisting at govt school, reach shivapanna betta a wee bit jeep track ride (optional) have food (packed from Kanakapura) and return to BLR by 3:00 Pm.

Hello all,
Had visited the commisioner's office today with regards to permission for the Independence Day Ride.
WAs told that if there are 10 to 15 bikes it should not be a issue. However if there are more than 15 bikes they requested us to come back with the following.
1. Letter to the Commisioner mention the intension of the ride and the name of the organization that is carrying out the ride.
2. Number of Bikes
3. Route Map
4. Start and End time. ETA at various location
5. Representatives of the Ride/ Ride Captains
The letter will be reviewed and approved by the commisioner. A copy of the authorization will be given to the organization and a memo will be sent across to all the Traffic Police Station notifying about the ride to ensure there is no Traffic Jam. A escort will also be provided if authority feel its requirement. Jeep and couple of Police Bikes.
I returned back as I did not have the above or authorization.
