Totally agree on that. But since u said in ur post that u were passing them on corners but they were blasting away on the straights, I was doubtful if they were developing a comparatively higher figure than ur stock bike? So just asked for an estimated difference.

Oh, is it? Never knew that.

    • As far as this years R15 championship was concerned, it was not a recognized FMSCI event so there was no enforcement of group D or any other rules. Customers were just asked to bring stock bikes.

Yup but any estimation i can make of what power their bikes are making would be purely speculative, so i'd rather not.

        • I also want to make it clear that the R15 championship this year was ONLY for R15 customers and i approached it that way, i did this completely on my own without any involvement from my team Red Rooster Racing. Despite these clear rules, I'm surprised that Anya Racing were allowed to enter and field their race bikes. Anyways rest assured if i do take part next year i'll do so with full team backing or not at all. Its not like we dont have the ammo you know

Reading through the last three pages, started feeling the helplessness against gross injustice, the kind of feeling we often go through in our country. Now, this statement, like satyen said, is what I wanted to read! Awesome Sir!
                  Congrats too

@Joel: Congrats bro! Keep going Damn Castaway you became when you found yourself 5 corners behind the anya racers and so much ahead the rest of the pack on the stock R15s! And don't you think guys like you and Killer should be part of some committee thats going to decide how things will be run next year? And what are the auto journos doing about all this? I mean, why do we want something done if its not gonna be done the right way? There are articles in every mag about how the R15 championships folded out and nobody tells us these things..

                  • During the presentation session on the stage, I spoke openly about the stupid grid positioning to all. The officials were like, we'll look into this next time. It was not only a stage of helplessness, but a mixed bag of feelings.
When will atleast something work in India without politics. Heck even this small sport is not spared.
If you see the things that happen in the National Roadracing championship, its even more irritating. Nothing is clean. Everything Sukks.

I have given my feedback to Yamaha and it has been well recieved, but there is only so much individuals can do. I think the onus is on the media to get all the 'right' info out to the public, I mean these guys are there at the tracks covering the events, yet the articles we see in the mags in terms of coverage are poor at best. The media here doesnt have a head to think for itself, there is no in-depth / investigative effort being put into their coverage. They just pickup general information about the races from the organizers and release it like that, so obvisously it always going to sound like things are hunky dory.

As far as yamaha are concerned though, i do believe they are genuinely interested in improving the situation. This first year of racing has been a learning for them and they are launching a fresh R15 championship starting January next year. We've been assured that this time they will use timing equipment, there will qualifying and proper rules (which will hopefully be enforced as well). There will be a modified R15 class (Group A) and yamaha will shortly provide a racing kit to be used for Group A bikes. Prize money as well will be hiked up and details for all the above will be announced soon. Yamaha are spending a lot of money on these events, i dont think they will want any bad publicity because some individuals are playing politics in between. Lets hope things are better next year.

                          • one thing that makes u stand apart is that , with those bike being more powerful also , looking at the gap @ the finish , Killer hats off to ur talent on taking them on the corners..

With those bikes, they should have atleast pulled in a much better lead. The lead from the pic seems just about 4 bikes length,
In 3 laps pullin just 4 bikes lead with being xx champs/racers is BS..

                            Congrats Killer

                              • I found some thing missing in all of the posts...the tarmac conditions..which was nearly perfect...what says guys?...last time it was a nightmare with the rain.

Now coming to my run. I had a whole new experience at each corner of the track, guess it was due to a mental block during the watery run from the previous race which prevented me from leaning more for the fear of losing traction ,i eventually got rid off it..tis run oozed confidence in me to lean more than i usually do, cudnt get my knee down though ..

I raced in the beginners class, as i only had an experience of 2 previous events and this being my 3rd one. Came 4th in the qualifiers after venturing twice into the green in the third lap, man! Had lap riders in front of me in the second lap..

The finals was a different experience , two so called beginners crashed rite in front of me at C2 and i had to put down my anchors real quick, losing valuable lead and time.. I took out 8 guys and by the time i cud do more of it ,it was too late..down came the chequered flag and i ended up 8th..

Now coming to the complaints, you name an activity ,it had a flaw, starting from the illegal guys participating in state championship races to the grid positions both pre and post qualifiers(i had to start from 17th in the finals inspite of emerging 4th in the qualifiers )..there s a lot of things to correct and improve upon from the next race onwards..And yamaha has promised they will address all of it..time has the answer whether or not our concerns will be looked into..lets wait and watch..

And i met up with killer this time..a pleasure knowing you dude..congrats on your win..and you too joel, a job well done..

Guys with cams ,pls share pics..
