This is a great plan, Ayaz. Could you give the date-wise itinerary please?

Are there any potential couples too who are interested in the ride?

          • My wife is more than interested in the ride, she will most probably be joining in.

Date wise itenary roughly is as follows

14th Nov - Ahmedabad to Jaisalmer, reach there by 4 PM and roam around in the city, if time permits or if we are able to pre-arrange some camp site we will be staying in a desert camp.

15th Nov - morning check out the Fort and a few other site-seeing spots in Jaisalmer - Have lunch and proceed to Jodhpur - Night hault in Jodhpur

16th Nov - Jodhpur Sight seeing and then proceed to Jaipur for a night hault only

17th Nov - Jaipur to Mt Abu and then back to Ahmedabad, we have plan to add 18th to the Itenary as well, some might not be able to stay in Mt Abu but those who can will spend the night there and then return back to Ahmedabad, Also if the climat is too cold we might drop Mt. Abu altogether and spend that day in Jaipur instead, then rip back home via Udaipur.

                • Ayaz,

I told my wife about the ride and she was like, "you had been to Leh in June with your biker friends so that is enough !@#$% for the year. You will come on leave for Diwali if you know what is good for your life and limb else you will lose both pretty fast"

Bye bye Rajasthan. Have a good time guys (sobbing)

                    Hello Sir,

Few updates from my side- Ashik Khan,
Shardul, i guess u can elaborate better than me...

Roads from baroda till Thane is super cool, good tarmac, 4 lane. After Thane, till you cross Panvel heavy traffic, hence we got slowed down. From Panvel , we took the road to Pen, Halt for night there- started early morning to Dapoli, awesome ride in the morning fog covered roads, near Zero visibility at many places, and had to use the glove as a viper for the visor of Helmet.
Dapoli- Mahabaleshwar =Satara- awesome twisites and super fun to ride.

are you presently in pune ?
                    i'm @ pune till sunday morning (21st oct 2012)

                    regards

Thanks, Ashik. I know that the roads are good. Earlier in May last year, there used to be two bottlenecks - one at Kholvad and the other at Bharuch. Has this issue been solved? I want to make it to Pune in one day's driving but due to these two bridges, it takes longer.

Hello Sir, you can make it till the pune with no issues what so ever, yesterday i did ride from pune till lunawada approx 700 kms in 12 hours, and at both the locations there is no issues as such but at bharuch please try to avoid new bridge and try to go by old bridge so you can easily go across with no trouble as such. Rest the road till pune is buttersmooth as Ashik Earlier Described, but still you need to face heavy trafic in thane and new mumbai, that can not be avoided any any point of time, but in case you are lucky then you will not get the trafic as well in Thane and new mumbai.Thanks.

Instead of Lunavada, I will head to the Bagodra junction and then on to Rajkot. So, another 3 plus 4 hours which means that I should be able to do the trip in 19 odd hours. The last time, it had taken 22 hours. As I will be starting in the afternoon, I would stop overnight near Surat and then move out early the next morning.

Thanks again for the update. If you plan to ride to Pune on 09 Nov, do tell me, we can go together.
