    Hi Pramod,

Welcome to xBhp. The Tvm group is quite active so you have good company.

Wrt whether you should buy the ZMA R or the R15, like Nio pointed out the 2 bikes have different characters. I will have to respectfully disagree with Akhils assessment though.

The Karizma is a proven tourer and has been a fav of long distance riders for years now. That does not mean its only good for touring, it is a very comfortable & reliable day to day bike but to me it does feel a little long in the tooth now.

The R15 is not a "rip all the time to enjoy it bike" . It is a very competent tourer & a lot of people are using it to explore our wonderful country. It is a wonderful track machine (I should know, Ive been to the Chennai track ) but it is a lovely bike for non track use as well. I love pottering around Bangalore with my R15. It is more expensive than the HH but I feel it is money well spent.

    Someone might think -
    1. Im not going to do touring, hence no Karizma.
    2. Im not going to be ripping it day in and day out, hence no R15.
    3. Im left with the P220 & the Avenger !

Akhil, I feel you couldve been a bit more thoughtful in your response. Not everyone has spent hours reading, researching and tinkering with their bikes. There wouldve been a point in time when you & I wouldve had 2 wheeler doubts which we feel are silly now. Peace !

He hehe...If there is no Good Hospital in your living area, will you suicide even for a small disease?? To me, P220dtsfi is a great machine even though the service side is weak. R15 is an excellent make but the purpose is different The same product have also the service issues na? I am not wasting money instead it is on warranty period

          • still the amount of work i have put into collecting as much information about the 15 ,before i finally bought it, is humongous.if you really want something ,you earn it. that is my style.
            +100, did the same myself

it is guys like you who make people lazy by answering to all their silly questions.
Guilty as charged, I dont know the number of times Ive answered the same questions on the riding gear and helmets thread. (Un?)fortunately there are people like me who dont mind taking out a few mins to provide information that might be helpful to a newbie. In 25 + years Ive never seen the harm in being nice to anyone.

            You can call me Neil

thanks for informing that the r15 can be used in the streets as well ....
the 15 is simply not meant for the streets. it has so many problems when it comes to city rides.
And yet IIANM you continue to ride an R15 and even recommended it to Jayamon (as seen in a couple of posts back).

also thanks for informing that the bike can be used for touring as if i have never tripped on my machine
Dear Akhil, it appears that you have misread and hence misunderstood my post. I was telling Pramod who wanted to know about the R15, that it is a good machine to tour on. Except for the last para my post is addressed to Pramod from top to bottom. Take a chill pill man

but do remember to inform others the physical pains that one experiences after a long journey.
I actually find it a very comfortable bike to tour on. Lucky me !

dude this is india. here there are guys who are ready to travel to leh on their cd 100 if they have the time and resources.
            Lucky them !

da ~220kms in 3.5hrs is quite possible, but here the case is the time, frankly i am quite afraid to ride in the dark for more than 70km/hr in the speedo after my accident... anyways will try our best...
