Hello Sai, there are mainly two styles in Kalari namely Thekkan (south) and wadakkan(north). I myself have been a disciple of thekkan style for sometime. As name says Wadakkan is the style followed in northern parts of Kerala and Thekkan due south. If you trying to hit Trivandrum some instituitions like CVN will be costly and they teach wadakkan style and they are a bit strict about admissions, unsure if they accept students this time of the year, may be by Vijayadashami. But there would be cheaper options as well I guess. Anyhow I'll try to know if there is any option with my Guru.Originally posted by saipranav View PostHello my dear friends, I'm saipranav from hyderabad, i need some info from you guys, i'm 19 years old now and an avid biker, i'm planning to come to kerala during my summer holidays(i have 2 months+ holidays) and stay in kerala for about 3-4 weeks and learn kalaripayattu, i initially thought there is only one school for kalari but to my surprise i found a few dozens of intitutions which claim to have a huge background in kalari... so i was thinking you local people know which is the right school where i can get some authentic and kool training.
I tried calling 4-5 schools which i found on the net, they are asking anything from 11k-20k for basic 3 week to 30 days training which does not include food and accommodation, how much will a basic room cost me in this place for a month?

I have read about the northern and southern styles just a few hours back and im very much attracted towards the southern style(weapon less combats always interest me
)
@a.jayamohan: will contact him in the morning...
@Nio: do talk to your guru and let me know about it...
I'm planning to take this training in the summer as i said before. As staying over there for a month or few months will be easy during that time.
If the telangana agitation dont disturb my schedule, then my exams will over by April 5th and i can come down to kerala the next day.
If there is any course which is of lesser duration during christmas holidays or during sankranthi(Onam) holidays...
