Same here.. Now they are in 50-50. Told them about the helmet awareness ride and all. So great change was there. Now the only concern is speeding. Have to find a way to clear that one also else .....

The key to get their permission is Trust.
If you have a car and you drive that is your opening...drive them around safely & comfortably,let them understand that you are not one of those idiots on road and you are a safe & a responsible rider.

I remember back when i started riding...My dad never had any objection because by then i ad been driving him around a lot and he knew that i wasn't just one of those crazy kids outs there.

ya even i drive my parents around and they also know that i drive safe but the main things is that my parents don't know any one else in this trip

i would personally prefer the shorter route but i don't hav any problem in sticking with the majority opinion
