      • So when is next G2G? Its been 2 weeks i guess.

BTW, Im giving my bike for 10k km servicing. Its just ~9.2k km but ~30 months old so im doing it a bit early. Im not doing it at a Bajaj ASC. The mechanic i talked to, is quoting ~950 INR for labour. Do you think that is fair? I have "gullible" written across my forehead, so people tend to mess with me. But i will be present for the entire duration of the work.

Here is a list of the work:

        Idle speed (1400+/-100)
Valve tappet clearance (Inlet Valve:0.05mm, Exhaust Valve:0.1mm)
        Cylinder head gasket CHECK,REPLACE(If required)
        Oil Strainer CLEAN
        Centrifugal filter CLEAN
        Engine Oil REPLACE
        Air Filter REPLACE
        Carburettor CLEAN,ADJUST
        Fuel system leakages
        Fuel Pipes REPLACE
Spark Plugs REPLACE (2 Nos., Gap 0.7 ~ 0.8 mm)
        Brake light switch CHECK
        Clutch cover gasket REPLACE
CHECK Play - Brake, Throttle, Clutch, Steering
        Choke CHECK
        TPS CHECK
        Brake fluid top up
All fasteners tightness to recomended torque CHECK
Tire tread CHECK (Std. Lim. F5.0 R6.8, Serv. Lim. F1.0 R1.5)
        General Lubrication
        Steering stem bearing LUBE
        Wheel Bearing CHECK/LUBE
        Swing arm pivot pin LUBE
Disc Brake Pad (Std. Limit 7.4, Serv. Limit 3.8)
        Front Fork CHECK/LUBE
Front Fork Oil REPLACE (SAE 10W20, 165x2=330ml)
        Fork Oil Seal REPLACE
Brake Drum (Inside dia. Std. Lim. 130.0-130.16 Serv. Lim. 130.75)
Brake Shoe (Std. Limit 3.85 - 4.15, Serv. Limit 2.0)
        Drive chain REMOVE,CLEAN,LUBE
        Drive chain Slack (25-35mm)
I am buying the parts seperately. So please tell me if the labour charge is reasonable.

Are you sure? Because i've set it around 1300 and it coughs when idling and even dies while i change gears (when it suddenly goes to idle RPM)
from where did you get this values? any idea whats it for RTRs?
All values are from Bajaj Service Manual. All the work is alos mentioned in that.
!!!just 10k kms and worried about gasket??
no need man...just take it out..clean it and put it back..unles you wanna change to performance fileters..
I have a sponge filter. It gets damaged with repeated cleaning. It has been cleaned about 5-6 times now.
what happened to that?never heard of it in routine services..
All work is mentioned in the Service manual. Plus its 30 months old and the fuel pipes are rubber and have been messed with for transportation, fuel stealing etc.
again....any serious problems with clutch? the SVC may rip you off for things like these..
Clutch cover gasket gets damaged when clutch cover is opened for oil strainer and filter cleaning. I has to be replaced.
did you mean throttle position sensor? its not present in ur pulsar...
Thanks for the full form. It is work from the manual. Plus there is a magnet with another thing next to it connected by 2 wires on the throttle lever on the carby. Isn't this the TPS?
            Leaking oil????
No, but i thought it HAS to be replaced at 10k km when the fork oil is being changed. Isnt that true?

try that place at pravachambalam where remy told...if you do it after may first week, i can also sit with you learning all those !!
I am going to the place Remy told, near Nemom, Mr. Joseph. But what i want to know is whether Rs. 950 is a fair price for labour alone. Another 120 for pre service washing at a recomended place. Im buying all the parts and oils seperately. Plus, i may be shipped off to my next location of education in May so i want to get the work done when im still free.

950 is a pretty reasonable labour charge i guess...for if you give it to the service centre...and you want every job you mentioned to be done...they would surely quote a much higher price...and + you wouldn't really know if they have done everything...usual issue...so i guess Rs.950 is reasonable for a guaranteed job...just my say...decision left to you..

                • I have changed my bike's engine oil.ths time Motul 15 w 50 fully synth. Nice performance....I feel it...smooth gear shift and better pick up I have bought 1 ltr from X javan shop and 1ltr given by Akil muralidar for free. Rs 800/- for one litre.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

Formula1 wax is the best choose...I am using that for the past 3years. But make sure that it is orginal. check it is made from USA (behind that pack)...You can get it from Motor plaza sreekariyam for Rs 250/-.

@Binoy: contact pogumoodu oil shop(nr petrol pump). I hve seen 20W40 grade Motul there. but not sure it is fully synth

as far as i know formula one is the best one and i ve hunted for it xtensively in trivandrum , but was in vain. Then bought another foam polish and its doing its job well...but to retain the shine , will have to polish it every two weeks . good to hear thats now available at motorplaza.. 'But it hardly makes any difference to white colour na? a good wash with shampoo will do good.
