  • Welcome 2012: The Mumbai Edition

Well well well, its that time of the year when we set out on party ideas for the new years eve. This time around, thanks a whole long list of issues my year end ride plans have gone bust, and am sure there are many more looking for a overnight plan for the new years eve.
    So heres the plan.

Ride to a safe - secluded place, camp in the nigh and have fun and leave sometime in morning.
The venue has been fixed as "Mukane Dam" (19.822266,73.638954)

    The Agenda:
Duh-uh. Seriously you are NOT invited if you want to know the agenda for a New years eve party

    Who all are coming:
    SatyenPoojary
    Ninad Ambre
    Alankar Misra
    Winzeee

    Things we need:
    Portable Speakers
    Some nice music collection
Flammable items like coal etc (no you cannot burn down a fellow rider)
    Some Coal for Barbeque
    Marinated Chicken
Bed sheets - Bring your own!
    Blankets - Bring your own
Torches - Try and get as many as you can
    Mosquito Coils
Pocket Knife (if you have em)
    Cuttlery if you want em
    Tissues
    Metal Mesh net
Some vessel where can burn coal, like a pot or a bucket
and ofcourse other stuff that you think would help like chips, chocolates, hookahs, strip dancers, and what not!

PS: We will be stopping for the dinner enroute. The rest of the stuff is for the night

The route is anyway one of the finest peices of tarmac on this side of India, and has some nice twisties at Kasara. Perfect thing to do to welcome the new year.

Do post your confirmations, and update what all things you can bring.

    Spread the word!

I'm out. I won't be able to handle an overnight stay in the wild owning to a BAAAAD cough and cold. Will stick to my original plan - smallish solo trip in the morning somewhere and home by evening OR finish some long pending work so I have more time to do longer trips in January. Have fun!

                Lets freeze it..."Mukane Dam" it is...near Igatpuri,Nashik

There are about 6punekars wanting to join in and considering their convenience was thinking about Slope of Hell,Kamshet too. But slope of hell doesnt seem much safe for newbies joining in and most of the bikes wont reach there at the top anyways.

Mukane Dam is just about 3.5kms away from the main NH3 Highway, has an off-road patch where even a four-wheeler can be easily taken. We wont be exactly camping in the dam premises but somewhere near or may even go ahead to Upper Vaitarna Lake. Idea is to find a quiet, less windy place near the water-body and camp there.

We need to know how many members can confirm for this in order to arrange for tents. (Rent/borrow/buy) Remember its going to be freezing cold so please get the adequate amount of warm clothing apart from the regular riding gear.

Apart from the stuff mentioned by Satyen please get some newspapers and sufficient drinking water. If possible would be arranging for a car which can carry most of the items. Confirmations by today evening would help in arranging things properly. If anyone has got the barbeque kit please get it,we can carry it in the car. For that matter any large item which cannot be carried on the bike(which is quite hypothetical considering so many extra large xbhpians already riding bikes)

                This might be our venue...
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

I heard Kawasaki had given complementary barbeque grill as an accessory with their Ninja 650R. Isnt Satyen bringing that.

The 650 itself is a barbequemake sure you ride it in the heavy traffic before cooking the chicken
