That's what I call a perfect contender for leading the group to keep away from insane riding. 80-110 most of the time on the NH will be a pleasurable ride. I got a mileage of about 25 last time in the same route cause I was doing 120-140 almost the whole of the NH stretch. I filled up the tank on the way up and it reached reserve on the Ecity elevated fly over on the way back. The other mavericks with me, the RD 350 and the Suzuki Bandit had to refill on the way. But what a beauty those two were.Originally posted by asif View PostLooks like the RX is going to be struggling on the weekend with all R15's lining up.

I've drove to Elagiri on my ZMA a month before.
These are few info for you
Its around 3-4 hours dirve including pitstops.
BTM-Slik Board-NH7- E.City- Attiblle-Hosur- Krishinagiri- NH48-
Option1: NH48-Natrampilli-Periyamottur-Mandalawadi- Elagiri Hils
Option 2:NH48-Bergur-Tirupattur-Mandalawadi- Elagiri Hils
Option2 is 10 kilometer more than the Option 1.
You can also take Option1 way back or vise versa
Bergur-Tirupattur-Mandalawadi the roads are really nice [But little gutters and humps hear and there and little dense traffic at Tirupattur for 1KM]. Its a 2 way road with least traffic[Bangalorens will love it].But you can enjoy nice village scene and nature[not much green but little fields]. Good for cruising at 50-70KM [good for RX and 150cc and below]
If you take NH48 route all the way Mandalawadi its a stretch of Highway with nothing on both side and Hot weather. Good for speeding.
On the way till Krishinagiri there are good restaurants Like Mc.D and KAMATS.
I would recommend to fill the tanks in or after Hosur petrol prices are little less.
The climate is Hot.
There is no petrol Bunk on top of Eligiri Hills
Use riding gears.
Be careful on the hair pins.
Everyone please go through the ' Group Driving ' Topic on art of safe riding

Thanks Hackdrag ! When I went last month I took option 1 on the way up and option 2 on the way down. Honest confession, we did not plan it that way, we just got lost and ended up with those direction asking locals there.Originally posted by Hackdrag View PostThe climate is Hot.

That reminds me of a funny incident. I saw a villager with his lungi half folded and was little drunk. We tried to match our Tamil words and added up to ask which way to the hills. In came the reply in pure english
He also advised us to be careful while riding and not stress the engine too much while going up the hill else it might result in engine seizure. Me and the other guy we were listening to him had our jaws drop for a couple of seconds.

I have not heard of the place although we sure can if it fits the schedule. We are leaving at 0900 hrs. We should be there at the hills max by 1300 hrs. If this place is on the way, good enough for early lunch, why not.
But a ride up the hill after a heavy lunch might be a little tricky. That said, I am definitely open to it cause you just typed "Nice Biryani".
Edit : Just checked out the place and it's right there around Yelagiri, hence a good place for lunch if riding up the twisties is okay with everyone after a good lunch.Last edited by abhisheksircar; 04-16-2012, 08:58 PM.

I am not sure how many of us are aware but Ambur or Vanambadi is the ultimate briyani place.. Lets see.. I think we can discuss that before we start?

Sounds good. We will take a quick offline opinion poll before we leave. My count being in became stronger when you added 'ultimate' to it.Originally posted by nullphobia View PostI am not sure how many of us are aware but Ambur or Vanambadi is the ultimate briyani place..
