While I had specifically mentioned that the issue was something else, the debate of whether wearing gear or not seems to be the hot topic on this thread.

Just some noodle bakers, just ask yourself these questions:

1. Do I wear a helmet even if it is a short ride; let's say, running an errand to the commodity shop?
2. Do I turn out in the entire gear for "in-city" meets/G2Gs?
3. Do I treat the road as a road and not as a race track?
4. On weekend rides, do I rush into blind corners with no regard to the oncoming traffic?
5. While taking corners, do I really know whether I am veering into the opposite lane?
6. Do I really treat group rides as a pleasurable ride or is it a top speed setting ride?
7. On a group tide, do I really follow the leader or make my own rules?
8. Am I well equipped to handle any emergency on a ride?
9. If a fellow biker is hurt, do I know what to do? Whom to contact? How to coordinate?
10. Do I ride carelessly just because I'm a part of xBhp and "we know all" attitude?
11. Do I have respect for others on the road? Do I let senior citizens, children and handicapped, Mothers with Kids in front cross before I zoom past?
12. Do i ride to prove a point to others that iam better than you?

Maybe answers to these questions might help you understand the tone of our oncoming G2G.

I personally feel, that the safety gear mandate for Pune xBhp(If mumbai people think the other way, then the same can be implemented there) should not be removed. We should let it remain as it is. Its for the good of the bikers themselves and their co-riders on the ride.


And an honest question to all, how many riders have we sent back on our rides just bcoz they didn't wear proper riding gear? Can anyone give a count.

3-5 on an average... No Gear No Ride

I even remember in some of our rides ppl just came wearing helmets. Not even jackets.

Yup we do, especially when the ride is happening at lavasa.
Which ride are you talking about where they have come only in helmets...
and yet you went on a ride with them??

I also remember some of the members in the last introduction ride were sent home, Rohit himself had asked if any one requires gears he has them... and he can lend for the ride... But two of them decided not wear so they were sent back. Also a crash took place there that morning where the new member lost control on a wide right hander and went mud sliding (scraped his hands and knees) me and rohit gave him a shouting for not replying when asked for gears. Some apache guy behind green ninja of Rohit

Which ride are you talking about where they have come only in helmets...
and yet you went on a ride with them??

That was during the friendship ride..mumbai+pune overnight ride.

That time that guy just wore a LS2 helmet. But now that guy has a Dajiya helmet, AStar Jacket and AXO 2 boots.

Thats cz he had basic gloves for his hands and when asked for knee guards he said he is wearing them inside the pants...

When crashed came to know he wasnt.

Why is everyone trying to prove each other's statement wrong? Its not gonna improve/help anything. Lets meet at G2G and settle this.

Would request NV to guide on RVM's and indicators at least in Group riding conditions as they impact each rider of the group.

I guess I do remember this wide right hander with mud on far side. :-/
we also had a crash at this one once, but rider was fully geared, so escaped without a scratch

You should have banned him for life. A rider with no regard for his own life and safety is the most unwelcome part of the group.

Dishonesty when it comes to gear can be extremely lethal.

@Eshaan, IIRC this is the reason I had warned you people to not go for an intro ride to Lavasa. Its waay too risky for first timers. Even with relatively more experienced people riding, there is at least 1 crash for every 2 rides on an average.

On the intro ride I had conducted I literally had to kick people in the shin to find out the guy who was faking under-jeans knee guards. This led to a hold up for over 30 min before the ride could even begin since I arranged for the spare set from Rakshas, who was fast asleep at the time.

Been there done that. He is not present with the group anymore.

No more intro rides on that route...
Totally agree on that, i have crashed at lavasa... I guess Jakrap too(he has completed CSS)... So no more lavasa for newbies!!!

And that is precisely why every time people planned for lavasa mumbai guys always made a mandate and breifed others that no one would follow the likes of sagar and all who know lavasa as the back of thier hand!
