The road between C and D is good. Atleast were good last year. And they were fresh - so I can hope that it will be decently rideable tarmac this year.

Have added my name to the tentative list. Will confirm in a day or two. Need to get my motorbike serviced.

Any input for road between point D & E ... it was little bad last year

It has been precisely i-don't-know-how-long since i posted here.. But i come with great tidings of an awesome ride! Or not depending on your tastes.

Here's the route. A little exploring between C and D so i can't guarantee good tarmac but we're not looking for that anyway.

We'll leave from Chandani Chowk at 6am sharp on 26th August and yes that's a Sunday. The riding gear mentioned on the first page is mandatory. You can contact RohitLC if you're missing some gear.

I am boarding a train for MH tonight. So no riding for some time now .

When riding from Mumbai to Pune on 19-Aug (Sunday), I witnessed several bikers (riding responsibly) in the direction of Pune-Mumbai somewhere near Khopoli or so (can't remember where) around 3:45 PM.

I was on my Red CBR with black tail bag; wondering if they were xBhpian

Another cross country ride? Where were you off to this time?

Video editor

Hi guys,

May I post an OT here (sorry).

Can anybody suggest a good (=freeware) video editing app for Win 7/Ubuntu? I have tried Win MM 2.6 but it sucks big time - does not save videos even with basic editing like credits etc. Tried all fixes but no go. And Avidemux for Win/Linux works only with large AVI files

I am almost at the end of my Leh travelogue; only the videos are left to be edited with some muted background music etc.

All techies/enthusiasts, please help. And again, sorry for the OT (help from the Net was not good enough...)

Try wondershare video convertor as it has a solution about the issues you are facing, as i had the same issues some days back and it worked for me, it takes 20 -30 mins to convert a 1 gb mkv file to avi or any other format, with a system having 8gb RAM. Also it has options to cut the file where you want edit it with ur choice of mp3 and many others.

Saar, my primary ride was to Shirdi, then I rode to Mumbai, then Pune & then back home. Enjoyed some awesome route between Shirdi-Sangamaner-Akole-Bhandadara-Ghoti & ofcourse home run between NICE to Chennai.

We can have breakfast in Tamhini ghat where the Pune district ends there is a small dhabba kind of thing.. decent place... lunch place n evening snacks place can be decided on ride... since its 500 kms not much of planning to that detail... any suggestions are always welcome... Vivek please correct if i am wrong..

Hi sid,

I had done this in April as a precursor to the Leh trip so some inputs.

There are one or two small dhabas before the Tamhini ghat, along the Mulshi road where one can have breakfast of poha and tea. After descending Tamhini and getting on to NH8 and crossing the bridge, there is a dhaba on the right, (while riding towards Pune) that serves the most fantabulous mutton thali. Do try it out.

Thanks, Sri. I have downloaded Win Live MM and it has worked so if this too gives hassles, I shall try Wondershare.

My travelogue has gone to 45 pages Don't know when it will end
