  • Ride to Smile Stone :

Please note that specific gear and document check would be done at starting point and if anyone turns up without minimum requirement, will not be permitted to ride with the group.

Since the number of riders on this ride has crossed 20 mark, it would be extremely difficult to manage all the riders as one group. My idea is to split the group in 3 parts. Each group should be leaving meeting point at 3-5 minute interval. The groups would be based on riding speed at which the rider would feel comfortable.

1st group would be of riders comfortable at speeds of 120 kmph +
2nd group would be of riders comfortable at speeds between 100 to 120 kmph.
3rd group would be of riders comfortable at lower speeds / riders who have bikes in run-in period and can’t exceed certain speeds.

The speeds mentioned above are the top speeds and not minimum speeds of bikes. Please understand that this is not a test of your manhood or riding skills. Even Rossi on a FZ16 would not be able to overtake a unskilled guy like me on a litre class bike. J This is a group ride with lots of riders with whom we have never ridden before.

Each group would have a lead and tail. Any member of that group is not permitted to overtake the lead.
I request everyone to kindly specify the group in which he would be comfortable. If you are comfortable doing so, please post if you would like to lead or tail any specific group.

    Group 1 – 120 kmph+
    1. Trustvishwas – N250
    2. Devil's Assassin - Avenger dtsi 220

    Group 2 – 100 – 120 kmph
    1. Eshan P-180 - Yamaha R15 - Lead
    2. Kuntal Nag - Yamaha R15
    3.
    Bikerni Urvashi Patole-ZMA 225
    4. Firdaus - P180
    5. Dheeraj - Yamaha R15
    6. Sumit - Fazer

    Group 3 – Lower speed
    1.Viper 1089 - Ninja 250R (bike in run in)

Everyone is requested to fill up fuel / air on Saturday. Once the ride starts, there would not be any break till we reach smile stone.

        • it is becoming obvious that many would join 100-120 kmph...
just a suggestion.... make the range 80 -110 kmph and that group would be divided into 2 parts... this will ensure that new riders, run-in guys would have a proper lead n tail ... otherwise there would be no experienced guy for the low speed group.... den der will be no point of the ride.....
FYI.... i dont mind tailing the slowest group....

I sense total chaos & ppl calling each other to check where the each & every group is. If you guys want to split into groups, make sure each group has a rider who knows the route & also knows the predfined haults otherwise we will spend much time in other activities. Discipline is important.

Yeah as more the members the more issues are there, as one may not comply with the speeds and at times if a slow rider is there the tail also becomes irritated.

Right said making 2 groups makes more sense actually.

There are no mid way haults. Once we start riding, only stop would be at Smile Stone. Discipline is very important in such a large group. This is the reason why we all are spending so much time on plans. Had this been our normal ride of 3-4 riders, none of this would be necessary.

Don't you think that 80 - 110 kmph range would be the slowest group. I seriously doubt that anyone would be doing less than 80 kmph on the highway. It would be great if you can take over responsibility as overall tail. Just make sure you are not late for Ishan's breakfast treat

Updated plan is as follows :-

                    Ride to Smile Stone :

Please note that specific gear and document check would be done at starting point and if anyone turns up without minimum requirement, will not be permitted to ride with the group.

Since the number of riders on this ride has crossed 20 mark, it would be extremely difficult to manage all the riders as one group. My idea is to split the group in 3 parts.

I request everyone to kindly specify the group in which he would be comfortable. If you are comfortable doing so, please post if you would like to lead or tail any specific group.

                    Group 1 – 120 kmph+
                    1. Trustvishwas – N250

                    5. Devil's Assassin - Avenger dtsi 220 - designated tail

Group 2 – 100 – 120 kmph - This group is now closed. People need to post their preference in another group.
                    1. Eshan P-180 - Yamaha R15 - Lead

                    6. Sumit - Fazer
                    7. Sanjay - Classic 350

                    Group 3 – Lower speed
1.Viper 1089 - Ninja 250R (bike in run in) - I suggest that you act as tail for this group.
                    2. Utsavchs (Tentative) - Ambition or P200NS (bike in run in)

                    Group 4 – 100 – 120 kmph
                    1. Siddharth_ZMR - Either can be tail for this group or overall tail.
                    2. Desertfox - N250 - He can also operate as overall tail.

Everyone is requested to fill up fuel / air on Saturday. Once the ride starts, there would not be any break till we reach smile stone.

Out of this group, I request either sumit or sanjay to shift to Group 3 or Group 4. Most of the new riders have not posted their preference here. So naturally they would be in group 3 / 4 and we need maximum number of experienced riders in these two groups.

                          • ]There are no mid way haults.

This is a group ride with lots of riders with whom we have never rode before.

Each group would have a lead and tail. Any member of that group is not permitted to overtake the lead. I request everyone to kindly specify the group in which he would be comfortable. If you are comfortable doing so, please post if you would like to lead or tail any specific group.

                            Group 1 – 120 kmph+
