I'd guessed that my guess was a correct gesture

edit: i connected w/ the mt-01 lead u provided...
he sold off the bike last year to a yamaha dealer!!!
so that is a cold trail too... guess its n650 for me then...

I definitely am a Maharashtrian though most often mistaken as a kin of my Uttarakhand namesakes. And my Marathi improved dramatically after I got married - earlier, English and Hindi were the natural languages in use with my sis and dad. Marathi was used for monosyllabic monologues with my mom and relatives.

I wish I had the potential infra - land, location, finance and HR - to bid for a Triumph dealership. I shall be speaking to some dealers during my posting in Pune about this topic as a business venture. I am most definitely interested as I believe the best baker is one who loves to eat bread.

And yes, I prefer Scotch to Sake

Hi Friends,

Need an update on road conditions to Matheran.
Me with some of my friends are planning bike trip to Matheran this weekend.

As per the acquired information, vehicles are not allowed inside Matheran. Therefore, we are thinking of renting a hotel near Neral for the night stay and to keep our bikes safely there for the day when we would visit Matheran.
Anybody know anyof the hotels near Neral? Pls share......
Any of the suggestions are welcome.

Hey the road to matheran was not so good when i went last year .
it was under construction and you mite be aware of the pace by which the work goes on .
most probably the work would be completed by now.

All I can say is that whymail, icemang and trustvishwas bring a bit of maturity to this thread which prevents the usual bakar. It is as entertaining to read your posts as it is to see a Rishabh Shukla and Rohit aka Biru speak about their Bhoplalese (double meaning intended) adventures and cricket commentary. A meeting at a G2G is in order.

As regards to the Triumph scene, I also prefer Sake to Scotch...just that Sake tastes better for my taste buds

@niranjanvaidya. @whymail. As a youngster,I hated Scotch; I felt it was for the pansies of the Armoured Corps. The infantry drank rum. It took rum to put hair on a man's chest. "Fifteen men on the dead man's chest, yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum" and that sort of thing. The men drank rum so too did the officers. If an officer preferred whiskey, then he was considered ambitious and a man of private means too who could afford it. Also, some Officers' Messes prohibited the serving of rum at the bar as it was considered crude for an officer's refined taste buds. Utter rubbish...

During those days, the Indian Army had the best rums in the world - Hercules and Sea Pirate. What flavour, what aroma. Virtually no residue on the blotting paper. Straight up from the bottle itself, on the rocks, with hot/warm/cold/chilled water or soda, with Coke and in cocktails, Hercules was THE best rum in the world. Now, one has to swig that awful Old Monk and the horse piss called McDowell. And then from a bloody PET bottle. The good times have gone the Kingfisher way - down and out.

Also, it was too expensive to go ballistic on whiskey. But when a bender is needed, it is vodka. Nothing like vodka to get smashed on and yet resemble and feel like a human being the next morning. I can't get the original Russian stuff which is absolutely dry so have to make do with the oily Smirnoffs and Romanovs and Blue Fins. My first love is beer but it loves my waist as much as I love it so we have a love-hate relationship.

Now, with the passage of time, I appreciate two fingers of a good whiskey on ice, a nice cheroot, my favourite book and.... we enjoy each other's company. At the end of the day, nothing like a contemplative drink to put matters in their correct perspective. And when one has as wonderful a spouse as I have, who also enjoys the odd Black Dog, one does not have to talk to speak...
