Again,.. if 'tried and tested' = the headlight threads on various places like here, BCMT etc, we were all part of it when it happened and contributed to it too.. I too have a P180 and i've been playing around with its headlight since 2005.. even before the avenger came in and the thoughts of putting in the coil, RR came in. I'm not denying the avi-coil + 60W. Your bulb won't blow off at any point if you switch to Avi RRs or coils or put in a regular 100/90 bulb or a 60/55W. I've used it for several years on my P180 and used the 100/90 on my Karizma for over a year (practically since i've bought it).
1. First change the bulb. Don't spend a lot of money on it. You can get a Philips Blue Vision 60/55 for abt 150-180. It's available in single package. Else you can buy a regular Osram 60/55 or 100/90 (both are less than 100 bucks) and are really good too.
2. Swap the RR unit of yours with that of the Avi. This is extremely easy and you can do it yourself. It's the blue unit under the seat and can be easily unplugged and plugged. This can make a fair bit of difference in your light at low revs when you switch to a higher wattage bulb. You'll notice the change at low revs and when you switch between low/high beams. If you have a friend with Avi, then you can test this for free first for a night. If you feel satisfied with it, then buy this. It's abt 400 bucks I think (checked long back)
3. After all this, then look at switching to Avi coil since it is the costliest among bulb, RR etc, and you'll need to open the magneto case to change it so it involves some work and not as easy as (1) and (2).
So do all these in the above sequence. I'd ideally recommend Osram 100/90 regular, Avi RR unit, Avi coil would work pretty good.

.. That's wht I said about experimenting thing, it took me an year after getting all the info.. night riding was not much at that time.. but recently, it has gone to the max..
I have seen your name there in lots of experimenting threads too..
by tried and tested I mean "Couple of weeks back, I got the ave coil + 55W bulb fixed personally on a friends bike P200. Now, the experiment is done. So going for it ." only thing, he sourced coil from kothrood probiking and tried with normal halogen bulb.
money is not a criteria, so would try in opposite manner.. If I still don't find any improvement, RR Unit would be the next thing

when i ride bullet before my bullet was solid condition but i once race with a Ceilo car and my engine size. mechancic say bullet is good bike but no racing. it is good for three people and very powerful.
one day when i become rich i but ducati and then I race with cars. not now.

Ok...an added attraction to todays meet is Doctors presence along with a Bewza/Busa ( not his though ) with a growler exhaust !
Get tissue papers a plenty cause you are gonna be salivating on the floor !
I hope Vivekpetrohead, Ankur and all the latest entries to xBHP read this in time cause todays event is really cool for newbies like myself so i am sure all other newbies will find it enjoyable toosigpic

funny incident on baner road
i happen to come across a funny incident on baner road so felt to share with you all, today morning i came across the road building contractor for the baner road near food bazaar baner through a common friend so i asked him why the road is not fully constructed when the road work and all dugging is done a year back and the road ends on bth sides are still half in cement and half is 1 feet below the road, so he said 2 kms away one of the contractors was told to stop construction of work as the other end where the new road is stretched as it was coming on a private complex parking so they stopped all the work, i asked him that area belongs to private complex so thats a dispute what about the rest of the baner road and specially your part of the road why was that work stopped, to which he replied he doesnt know anything..
i felt like i should give him one tight slap and laugh on the idiot
