1)Already answeredOriginally posted by satan69in View Posthi guys...this is my 1st post here in this thread...me and 3 other friends are coming to pune for lonavala, khandala, lavasa visit on 17th...we will start early morning and be there around afternoon.....just wanted to know a few things:
1)how is the climate there now?
2)how are the roads to the above mentioned places
3)any other places we need to see?
4)can anyone direct us to a good budget hotel?
5)is NOC required to freely roam around in pune
Thnq guys
2) I will say go to Mahabaleshwar and then if you want to go then go to Lonavla, Khandala. There is nothing there and the ride is also very boring. Mahabaleshwar is 10 times better.
3) You can go to Panshet. Only 40kms from Pune. Roads are mixed bag but the ride is beautiful and if you go there early morning then you can see a lot of birds on Panshet lake.
4) No idea but try around Pune station. You will easily get it.
5) Yup but if you can show them fuel bills+PUC of Hyderabad then there won't be any problem.
Btw its not the correct time to visit Pune. August-September is the best time.

My suggestion :hi guys...this is my 1st post here in this thread...me and 3 other friends are coming to pune for lonavala, khandala, lavasa visit on 17th...we will start early morning and be there around afternoon.....just wanted to know a few things:

Thnq guys
Visit Khandala in the evening of Day1 and stay in Lonavala/Pune.
However both Khandala and Lonavala can be skipped as Mahabi is 10X of them.Instead you can go to Lavasa
Day2 : Go to Mahabaleshar(140kms) early morning.Dump the luggage there at hotel and roam around.
Day3 : Enjoy sunrise at Mahabi the start for Kashid Beach on Konkan(160 kms mostly in ghats).
spend sometime at beach and strat for pune post lunch.
Kashid-Roha-Kolad-Tamini-Mulshi-Pune
The day will be mostly in ghats of sahyadris.
do not expect good roads all the time here but 70% it will be good enough to
enjoy the scenery around.
Day4 : back to hyd
As per my view coming for only lonavala/khanda/lavasa at time of yr is not worth it.All the beauty lies post- monsoon but still the above itenary will do some justice.

+1 to MG and Kashif about the Mahabaleshwar thingy!
and PS: Dont trust these guys about Khandala\lonavala
they have been there too many times and may be so the charm about the place has mellowed down! and the last thing you would want to hear when you go back to Hyderabad is "tssk, waha tak gaya aur khandaala bhi nahi dekha"
From your itinerary I would suggest
If you reach before 4, head to Lonavala... Amby valley roads....
then head to Khandala is to catch the sun set on the Mumbai Pune express way!
Then leave for Mahabaleshwar.. its about 200 odd KMs from there spend the day there... relish on carrots and strawberries and comeback for lavasa th next day..Last edited by satyenpoojary; 03-16-2010, 02:20 PM.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

yeah the mahabaleshwar suggestion is by far the best till now. The beauty of lonavla and khandala is post monsoon only. Right now it will be like what varun said, the grand canyons...yellow and dry.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View Post+1 to MG and Kashif about the Mahabaleshwar thingy!

oh gosh.. dont you love your Ninja?Originally posted by TenHut View PostRecent posts from Devil Pulsarian started getting me real worried. He was selling my RR and Marushin on the forums and I had to engage a private detective to see through his plans. The guy was hatching a plan to rob me of my RR and my Marushin. Grieveously concerned I decided to put up a fight and give the RR VVIP protection. Marushin will be hidden somehwere in my house in carbon reinforced vaults with anti-theft laser protection.
How can you leave it outside. You could have spent some more to increase the cage size and put the Ninja in too.
ok..
I believe you didnt have money.. You could have borrowed money from me.
Ok.. poor chap.. I will donate 100 Rs to you.
What..
100 Rs is less.. ok then take 150 bucks. now dont ask for more.
