Hi, I'm planning to ride to Parli-Vaijnath tomorrow (11th). Need some guidance on the route. From google maps, I could see one possible option via NH9 +SH77 (dist: ~350 kms one way) is:
pune>uruli>kurkumbh>loni>Indapur>Tembhurni(diversion from here onto State Highway 77)>Barshi>Kallam>Ambajogai>Parli-vaijnath.

I would like to know:
1. Has anyone traveled this route before? (i'm sure that ppl have rode) If yes, how is the road in general (2/4 lane)?
2. If anybody feels friday is boring & want to tag along ? (can visit famous temple there & will ride back on Sunday)

Yes I did travel may be some 2 months back . The route till tembhurni is full of surprising potholes(you will find a smooth stretch, then all of a sudden you will see a pothole, before you react you are already into it and this series continues). . Lots of diversions due to road widening work. . SH77 . .If I am not wrong here .its the right diversion we take to pandharpur after temburni . . If that is the case, its in a bad shape. . But manageable . . BTW no dividers mostly on the stretch, so be careful about the trucks and the volvos(especially if you see a vehicle with AP 02 or AP 01 registration ). .

I travel on this route every weekend........ twice.......... in a Multi-axle volvo though!

Its super bad! The entire patch is under construction for the past 2 yrs and there will be constant lane departures....

I can feel the roads in a B9R... so i presume you will feel them a lot more

I also talked to few other regular commuters on this route and got the same info.
Now another route in consideration:
Pune> Ahmednagar>Ashti>Jamkhed>Southada>Beed>Telgaon>Parli.
Around ~360 kms. one way.
Came to know that this route is preferred by 2-4 wheelers. Any comments? anyone?

Around ~360 kms. one way.

This route is generally in good health all year round, I have taken it 2-3 times and everytime I have found it to be good except for a few patches here and there.

Initial 360-370 km from a total of 430odd km is NH4 / NH4A (so should be very good). Fork left to enter SH 93 and 34km Further.. turn left onto SH34.. 400meters more.. trun right back onto SH 93... 25km more.. you reach your destination... (This is what the new GPS Navigation software on my Phone tells me )

But something reminds me that this NH4A / SH93 stretch being in Karnataka will not be in top notch condition (2 lanes, minor pothole infestation, over aggressive bus drivers.)

Alright..Most of you guys know Bhavishya Devgun and must know that hes doing this 6 month ride callled onerideoneindia..This the site link: OneRideOneIndia, Anyways, you know we could join them for a patch like Lonavala to Pune or Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar Or Pune to Mahabaleshwar..Meghalaya xBhp has already registered for a patch on their side..We could too..It will be great fun and maybe mumbai xBhp can join these onerideoneindia guys from Mumbai as the ride will take-off from there.and we could have another mega g2g.What Say?
