Now the topic of discussion is "paint job" for the bike...good good..

Btw, where is Utsav...he is not seen anywhere!! Now he isnt alone designing that project..many others have joined forces now..

If he has the complete design complete... I would really want to know how many batteries will he be needing to fully complete a Saddle Sore on his bike?
What batteries will he be using(Ni-Cd/ Pb-Acid / Li-ion / Li-poly)?
What approximately will be the unladen weight of the vehicle with all those batteries? [bike-only including chasis, engine(motor), gearbox, tyres, seat, battery(ies)]

Also a few more queries...
What gearbox(if any) will he be using?
Will there be any electronic assistance to avoid problems such as wheelspin at low RPMs arising purely due to the inherent torque characteristics of an electric motor?
At what RPM will his electric motor produce peak Torque and Power?
Finally.. Why did the 97Nm motor cost him 4.. wait for it.. LAKH Rs.?
Couldn't one which costed a lot less and made hell lot more torque be sourced from elsewhere?
Will there be a clutch? If yes.. what type?
What engine oil(s) will this bike be using?
What tyres and brakes are you planning on using?
Are these tyres / brakes readily available in India?
If yes/no How much will they cost him?

The purpose solely is to understand how much seriousness we should take your queries with. The chasis comes very late and we could get one custom-fabricated for your purpose.

@Others It is better we not discuss this project until someone confirms that Utsav does in fact have answers to my queries. There is no use going on and on and on about something which in all probability might never happen.
P.S.: Do a little homework before setting unrealistic goals for yourself.

Will the bike have tappets to adjust for more power?
What engine oil will be used? Mineral, semi-synth or synthetic?
Will the bike have a saree guard?
What headlight will be used? Normal halogens, HID's?
Tail lamps, I assume will be LED's since they consume less power.
Will the bike have split seats? Grab rails?
What horn will be used?

Biggest problem of them all... How are you planning on running the bike on public roads for such long distances without ARAI trials and without it getting confiscated by the police.
Assuming that your bike is so powerful that you can outrun the police, how will you manage to get it insured?
If you don't care about insurance? What happens if during the course of your saddlesore run, you happen to hit an old lady who happened to be carelessly crossing the road and injuring her. Will you be charged with attempt to murder? Or some other section?
Last but not the least.. will turning on the headlights at night reduce overall range(on a single charge) of the bike?

ROFL, I am enjoying the discussion of an unborned electric vehicle whose chassis is in some god based production house again as i dont know its a bike or scooter or something else

The chassis needs of an electric motor are very different than that of an internal combustion engine.

I need a small favour..
After many days of exams which end today evening finally, myself & few of my close frnds hav decided to visit Lonavala, Lion's point at night but unfortunately in a cage
Anyways, I have been to Lions point/Amby 3-4 times earlier on my bike so no problem with the directions till there but none of us have ever been to pavana lake/dam.. & I have seen some mind blowing pics by our fellow senior xbhp'ians nightout @ Pavana so I guess it deserves a visit. So I need directions/guidelines to Pavana lake/dam..
Lion's point is quiet a crowded place @ night so we'll spend the night there & then leave for sunrise view @ Pavana so pls also let me know the time it may take to reach pavana from lions point.

There is a road from Lonavala which goes from the back side of Lohgarh fort and then connects to Pavana.But for this you will have to ask for directions.

For quick travel you can come down to Kamshet NH4 and then take a right turn(300-400 mts after climbing down Kamshet ghat), this will take you directly to Pavana Dam

Lonavala to Pavana should not take you more than 50-60 mins.(for first timer)



PS: If Pavana is not such a favourable option for a small visit early morning before returning back to mumbai, what are the other options nearby lions point in a viscinity of about 50 kms or so one way ?
How is Lohagadh ?

Nice fort but not the right time to trek.If you like some good off-roading take your bikes till fort base(3-4 km of offroad)

I would start very early enjoying the cool breeze of Khandala, maybe sunsrise at Khandala, Tiger point and will run for mumbai.

We are actually helping him free of charge! An electrical automotive consultant will charge him (wait for it) 10 lakhs for telling that he has gone bonkers over attempting 1700+ kms on single charge.

believe it or not, nerds at nasa are not paid millions for nothing.. and they have to rely on solar pannels for such a thing.

also, utsav either has to carry a zillion batteries for doing those kms or he needs an quick charge option and both is gonna be a million dollar expense.

he can go in for a hybrid but for buying a fuel cell, he will have to sacrifice 10 years of his salary and still require someone to generate hydrogen for running this cell...

all great inventions are bogged down with one problem or the other. but this one has a complete history and geography book attached!!

all in all, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!
