If possible lets plan the meet on second week of March i.e. 14th and 15th.

Meanwhile as mega event is happening in Delhi on 7th and 8th, we Chandigarh XBHPians can come down to Delhi.

I will support the fact that the xBhp group should be present for 8th March mega event and the ride can be preponed/postponed by one week depending upon the availability of members.
      Bhai log!

Seems like we four drivers have been forgotten by our xBhp brethren back in Delhi.

Please remember two dates as far as as Delhi is concerned. March 8th (mega-event)and Apr 22nd(mega-final). Contrary to the impression created by the media that has Castrol and John as their prime focus points, xBhp has a vital role to play in the entire set-up. The start of the mega-events from Pune onwards will put things in a different perspective.

Also, it still remains a pan-India ride for xBhp, media attention or no attention. As you will agree, this is not the kind of a ride ordinarily attempted. Most of the global biggies intent on introducing their large capacity bikes in India have begun viewing xbhp with respect and as a talent bank of motorcyclists. Taking the R1's around the country will stand as proof enough of the capabilities contained within the xbhp. And we definitely need all xbhpians with us to complete this job with a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction. Names and pics in the news wouldn't make any of us better riders though admittedly the recognition brought about by press attention does feel good and make commercial sense.

Hoping we will not be abandoned just for a few news-lines and feature clips!!

Old fox you know how much respect you have in xbhp. Atleast I will definitely be there. I am even planning to meet you guys on Delhi border (within 150 km radius of Delhi) on the day you guys will be entering Delhi. And I am sure I wont be the only one

Okay, the ride has been postponed to the second week of march, i.e., 14th and 15th March, 2009 (Saturday-Sunday). The thread title has been changed accordingly.

No WAY sir. No way. Media attention or not. We don't care. we are here because we share the same gasoline in our blood. It's just that we completly forgot about the Delhi dates and were too much high spirited for the Chail trip. Ignorence on our end. Apologies.

And yeah we will be there anyhow to welcome all the 4 riders back to delhi.

The change of dates for Chail and your spirited response has made our day. Thanks guys.

@RX- will be wonderful if you people can meet us on our way back from jaipur. Will let you know the exact date once the Mumbai event is over.

@sherry: No need for apologies buddy.

For us, meeting xbhpians across the country is one big compensation for being away from our homes and families for so long. And the feeling of being unconditionally welcomed as riders, even if we are no newsmakers, is a wonderful feeling.

There are some newbies here as well I believe and it would really be neccessary that someone who have prior experience in long rides, especially in riding in hills takes charge and briefs the team before leaving for the trip.

Riding in group requires VERY good discipline, and riding in hills that too in a group requires tremendous amount of respect for not only yourself but also for the fellow drivers/ riders on the road as well. I don't really know what was the case with last week's Delhi-Chandigarh g2g, but whatever I have heard from the grapevine, it has not really left me with a good impression.

People riding with no road-sense, ripping like crazy, not following any proper rules, etc. have come to my ears and I am somewhat disappointed by this kind of immature and kiddish behaviour of xBhpians. We tout ourselves as the "safety gurus" here and we ourselves fail to follow the rules! Terrible really.

However, since this is going to be a major overnight stay g2g, it would really be great if each one of us who would be participating in this group activity takes responsibility of riding sanely, safely and following rules. Rest everything would fall into place. Presence of a senior or experienced rider does NOT guarantee a mishap-free ride, being accountable for one's own action does.

Let us make it a good, proper, "SAFE", mishap-free ride so that it can be enjoyed by one and all.

                            Thanks.

As for my experience: Have done a Pune-Goa ride and back(approx 450+km one side). Including riding inside Goa,completed nearly 500kms in a single day riding. Have experience on NH-4(flat out straight, you can say its like Greater Noida expressway widout any hiccups, stretched out for over 300Ks) and done 6-7000 kms of bike rides in Maharashtra, on the hills and ghats around.
So consider myself a decent enough rider. Although this will be the first time I will riding in the Himalayas, but so looking forward it.
Good To see you on the Confirmation's List..
