I did that stretch on the night of February 11-12. I reached Dhule at 2:45AM And thats when the NH3 dream run ends. The road is under construction with lots and lots of diversions and even on the side of the road where traffic is diverted from is not done properly. It is full of potholes, and loose sand/gravel. I could make it to Sendhwa only by 6.30AM(100odd km) Though I did take a 1 hour break in between 4AM and 5AM as I was a cold, sleepy and hungry(I forgot to have dinner when I started from Pune at 9.30 PMOriginally posted by dhiraj View PostHey

). But still it took me almost 3 hours to do the aforementioned 100km( on a day when I did 1160km in 22
). Surprisingly, the roads on the MP side of the border are much more tolerable than those on the MH side of the border. There is almost no road work going on the MP side and it is a mildly potholed 2-Lane highway but it is much more manageable than the road before you cross the border.
The road from Sendhwa to Indore is mostly 4 - lane with the odd diversion (not more than 5-6 I guess) in the 140km. When you eventually reach Indore, don't take the diversion or that will take you to Dewas. Rest I guess Abhi has given you all the directions to help you navigate through Indore.
Word of advice: Please please don't venture on MP 2-Lane highways after dark*.
Always be prepared to be pushed off the road by oncoming traffic(Especially MP registered Trucks and Buses) as they do not the meaning of right of way neither do they see bikes coming towards them when they overtake. No amount of honking /Flashing will help you in this and you HAVE TO go off the road to save your life. After dark, it is very difficult to see a proper spot to go off the road Hence*^^
.
P.S.: I was riding Solo.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Thanks Abhi dearOriginally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostDhule to MP border is single road.. which is slightly in bad condition.
Sendhwa to Indore: Excellent road (140 kms)...
, are you from Indore?
@ Antz.bin :- I will leave Nashik early in morning may be 5 AM or so, as the work on NH 3 till Pimpalgaon Baswant (approx 40 kms) is also under construction, so planning to cover that distance as early as possible in morning to avoid traffic, once i touch the 4 lane highway till Dhule it is not an issue. Dhule to Sendhwa which is approx 110 km is single road (according to you) means it will take approx 2 hours to cover. my target is to reach Indore by 2 or max 3 pm.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI did that stretch on the night of February 11-12. I actually was on my way to Lucknow (to my Grandparents' place)Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostNo diversions in MP. The whole road is complete now, right from Bijasan Ghat (MP border) till Indore. 100% complete.

For sure...
and was on the receiving end of many many 'pushes off the road' from many a MP trucker( 20 times in total in 1 day) between Dewas and Shivpuri(entirely 2 lane). Hence the *ed warning
. I started from Pune at 9.30PM on 11th and ended up in Jhansi at 7.30PM on 12th.. a total of 1160km for the day
. The reason I managed so much distance at the end of the day was because I was quite lucky as I just reached the Shivpuri-Jhansi road as soon as the sun set(around 6 PM and after that.. it was literally a ripfest with a constant maintained speed of 140odd
. It was a bit scary experience though as I DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY TRAFFIC AT ALL for the first 40odd km on the Shivpuri - Jhansi road. (Encountering a total of 3 trucks and 1 bike counting traffic from both sides of the 4-lane highway) I eventually made it to Lucknow by noon on the next day (after the night halt at Jhansi). Another 500odd km covered inside 7 hours
.
No idea about the Nasik - Pimpalgaon Baswant stretch as I joined NH3 from Malegaon (Took the Pune - Ahmednagar - Shirdi - Manmad - Malegaon route 330km in <5 hours.. 60% 2-lane highway). But still keep at least 2.5-3 hours to cover the 110km post Dhule. It took me that much time in the dead of the night.. You will be doing this stretch in the day. Day time = higher traffic. Also.. don't try to match my timings.. Sachin Nair / Alankar / Satyen (and many others) will readily tell you that I am very very fast after darkOriginally posted by dhiraj View Post@ Antz.bin :- I will leave Nashik early in morning may be 5 AM or so, as the work on NH 3 till Pimpalgaon Baswant (approx 40 kms) is also under construction, so planning to cover that distance as early as possible in morning to avoid traffic, once i touch the 4 lane highway till Dhule it is not an issue.
