  • ANOTHER QUESTION

Where in Silk board are we meeting?

I am not sure if there is enough place near the silk board junction to accommodate ~ 40 bikes.
I have a small suggestion, why dont we make it SHELL PETROL BUNK, Bommanahalli. Its just one kilometer after silk board, towards Electronic City. There's loads of space there and maybe if we request them the previous night(I could take this responsibility), they mite keep it open for us in the morning.
We could also do air checks/ buying short-eats/redbull/fuelling (if not done the previous night)..

    • Coplay ..I am going around 4:30 to check the place where exactly we should make the meeting point. Even around 6 AM what will be the place status I will check tomo 6 AM.

I appreciate your opinion. It seems you got a good idea. If u really can take the responsibility ..just go ahead....talk with somebody about 40+ bikes ....they definitly will allow

        • I have seen the place around the Shell Petrol Bunk. Although its an ideal place to get the refilling done, there is not enough space for all 40 bikers to park and walk around. I would still suggest to look up the nearby Bosch building or the Nandi Toyota showroom. There's enough space there too. A ride down on Hosur road should give a good idea.

          Cheers!

john,i would like to suggest a place near to silk board junction.

you see while coming from sarjapur towards the silk board junction,we get a petrol bunk on the left side of the road after crossing the big lord hanuman statue and that is on a lay bye lane.the bunk has big open space in front of it and enough to accomodate 40 bikes i guess.

my idea behind choosing that place is , because its on the truck lay bye lane and there even if we park all the 40 bikes together, there wont be any traffic jam or so which could happen if we park in silk board or anywhere upto the SHELL bunk.

              what do you say....

@rossi: Do try and make it to the ride man. Im kinda hoping that we don't get stood up by a black R1 (Perhaps an MT this time ) on this ride

You wont be touching the Lord Hanuman statue near Aghara because it has become a ONE-WAY now. u will have to go inside HSR layout and it will lead you to BDA complex junction. I dont think everyone can find this bunk ur talking about although it was a nice place...

Lemme see if there is better place down hosur road this evening while riding back from work.

                        • Its a better place.....

                          Coplay@180, Jeeva, John & others...

As coplay@180 said Shell Bunk would be a good place to wait.

The Bunk starts operating by 5:30 or 6 am normally but as we will be in a huge number we can request the Bunk guys to start it early that morning..

An if you people have observed the Bunk itself has a space behind the outlet where we can park nearly 30+ bikes without any Probs...

If any one of u r coming that way this evening, can visit the Bunk and speak to the guys over there....

*The bunk guys use this part of the bunk to park the Cars of the owner of the bunk, but at that part of the morning the owner will not be there so need not worry....

*But one thing we have to take care is as its a Saturday morning & we have
few travel agencies right after the Bunk, there will be a bit crowd there for the buses starting to different parts of TN.

So who ever is doing the Checking please check about the last point mentioned....

hey like I said that's my daily route to coll (upto chandapura)... so I can easily locate that place ( shell bunk )... anybody need pics ??? can post it up here tomo eve ... , But to avoid confusion I think we should stick to Silk board ... since we are forming 4 groups of 10 , I don't really think there should be a problem at silk board itself ...

                              @ Nand:
Dude, the reason we're finding a place to stop is because we need a little time to fasten our flags. That cant be done right under silk board right??
                              Thats why this other alternative.

@ others: I will speak to the bunk guys tomorrow morning...!!!
In case anyone else speaks to them before me, please text me on 9986007959.

Flags for all the bikes has been arranged, yet to get the flag post.

With a Large Pack (30+) on an Indian Highway, with many (15+) riders riding in a formation ride for the first time for a one way distance of about 100Kms has its own challenges.
I have tried to list my perspective of things that need to be taken care.
1.It will take quite some time to fasten flags for all the bikes, need to find a place where we can group & affix flags as riders ride in.
2.Including Breakfast & couple of stops for pics (park bikes in a line) will take about 4 to 5 hours to do 100 Kms.
3.Have at least a couple or more bikes designated to carry ample first Aid. & tool kits.
4.Make sure your bikes have enough petrol & in good shape w.r.t tires etc a couple of punctures will prove nasty.
5.I don’t want to write more on group riding, as excellent material is in below pages, at least please read the MUST Read section

sir, I will be getting first aid.....

Also, as there are around 40+ bikes, we can pit at 2 diffirent points before we start off. This will avoid overcrowding and we can set up the flags before we hit the road... just a suggestion
