  • Tribute ride for Kriss on Oct. 18th 2009

For the uninitiated, we lost a fellow biker in Kriss due to an unfortunate accident while on a ride.

Kriss was known to many of us around the city, as well as members in other cities. He was a kind hearted and a friendly soul who was always ready to go out of his way to help a fellow member, and by doing so, endeared himself to all of us.

I know him from many phone calls, emails, SMS, and just one brief encounter, which in hindsight has left me feeling short-changed, knowing the kind of person he is.

So, I felt it was befitting to the memory of Kriss to organise a short ride here within Bangalore. It might also provide his family and friends with a small hint of what we all think of Kriss as a person and a fellow biker.

I am hoping to replicate this in other cities as well. And to that effect, I am contacting some key members in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and of course Hyderabad.

Let's all join in, and do this for Kriss.

Can always count on you for this John. Suggest a nice quiet place where we can gather and spend about an hour or so. I had the Kanakapura lake in mind.

          well dude...

its gonna be 30 plus i m sure ...and kanakpura lake will be a bit problem as villegers carry woods an all on that tiny lane if u remember...

About the place let me think a bit..will definitly will come up about this.

Also requesting other members to suggest the place nearby to hangout with 30 plus bikers n bikes.

I feel it would be great if u keep a pic of Krish on the first post. So whoever still doesn't' know him will get to know the important face who is not there anymore with us physically. In our heart Kriss is always active. we never can forget the person like kriss. Also I feel to make a trip to Kriss's native to meet his family and let them know how important kriss was for us.

I really can't believe this still. My tears just coming out

            Nice initiative Rossiter.

But due to Diwali, most of the Mumbai xbhp guys will be visiting their hometown.
            Hopefully others can make it.
Or otherwise we'll shift this ride to 24th/25th if most of the riders will not be able to confirm for 18th.

Chennai xBhp's tribute to a true biker

                  Meeting point: Cozee Point
                  Date: Sunday, October 18, 2009
                  Time: 09:00am

Gang, we will meet up at cozee on Sunday to pay tributes to kriss. The plan is to meet up at cozee and move to the beach (by foot). Observe a 2-minute silence and pray for the departed soul. A few folks who have interacted with kriss will share their experience. The fact we have our meeting point in front of a huge beach (which is peaceful), we do not have to ride else where.

As a mark of respect to Kriss, we will observe a two-minute silence and pray for the departed soul and his family.

Kriss always promoted safe riding. I urge all xBhpians to pad-up with all your safety gears. I am sure kriss would be happy to see us like that.

Confirm your participation in the Chennai Offline G2G thread.

Akhil would be creating a new thread for us. We can take the discussion there.

@spidey: I understand man. If there is enough cause for shifting the date, we can do so. For now, let us have it on the coming Sunday. Attendance is not about the numbers anyway.
                        @John: Done man.
@santoosh: TBC meaning To Be Confirmed.
@kirosh 03: Thanks for the fast action. You can edit your post to change the participant list. I'll keep a watch on it.

a lake would be a better option rather than a commercial place with lots of chaos.

I guess Manchinabele is a good option. Its pretty close and a peaceful place.

But Kanva is the best bet.

@John, why not some dhaba ? usually they have ample parking space and wouldn't really object. Just don't know any dhabas other than on NH4 towards tumkur.

Kanva certainly could be the best bet, I could like directly reach via nice road.
