The Official Cochin Offline Meet(G2G) Thread

So here is the plan so far.
We all meet in-front of Trichur Town Hall. Arun chetan has told that we will have enough parking facilities and shade to spend some time there getting introduced and all. A little photoshoot also maybe.
Then we can have something to eat and then head towards Peechi dam. From what i heard, the dam area has wonderful gardens were we can enjoy some time there. The ride will be about 15-20kms from Trichur town area.

So,i guess that the plan is clear.
Now about timeing.
Last time what we did was meet at 12pm talked, had lunch and rode to Snehatheeram, since the heat took its toll, this time i would suggest we all meet early, at about 10am at trichur and have the g2g and ride so that cochin guys can be home by 4-4.30 itself. We can extend the time as we wish, maybe leaving after lunch from trichur.


People please give in suggestions, so that we can make a perfect plan.

Hello everybody... I am Hari.

I used to ride around trichur in an Activa from 2002 till 2006. Then moved onto a RX 135 Tiger...

Since 2008, I am working in Coimbatore...

Currently I ride around in an Apache RTR Fi (I miss my RX )

Since it is the Financial year ending, I dunno how feasible it is to get back from work... 90% I will be joining in...

Last g2g somewher in 2007, we started off in front of Townhall...I feel it will be a good point to start the g2g... we will have some chit chats n intros and then proceed to a small trip.... Since it is a Sunday, it will be silent and cool too...

& for having some snacks n drinks, I think there is a good bakery behind the Pallithaamam ground complex...there is ample space for parking the bikes there...


As somebody suggested, we may plan a bike trip to places such as Cherai or Snehatheeram beach... Since it is somewhat in between Trichur and Cochin, it will be convenient for the Cochin guys to join in too...

Cochin guys can join together at a decided point in Cochi at abt 9 30 in morning and then start off to reach the beach by abt 10:30... Ebin, Renjjiee, Titus, Vaishak Ramakrishnan .... Anybody listening????

TSR guys also meetup at abt 9:00...have some intros and then vroooom to Cherai/Snehatheeram beach...Its hardly an hour ride... The road used to be superb about 3 years before...Not sure abt it now though...

That's the point. Its a G2G and lets stick to it. We can have a short ride in and around Trichur. That will do. Places like Peechi or Vilangankunnu will be more than enough for the time being.

A ride can be organized at a later time for sure. Probably during the Monsoons. June-July-August. Climate would be better. We can think of places like Athirapilli or even Valparai.

N.B:- I'm happy to see that im the only 2-Stroker in the list

Remember - you guys said a g2g ? not a ride ?

( i know why you guys want to add a ride as you people have nothing to ride when you come for the g2g, but remember there are people who are coming after cochin ,so that it will be a long ride for them if they dun have a good time in hand . you guys will understand when the same is done at cochin )

2. Do not make the g2g stretch and boring ( find a place where the bike can be parked safe and we can have a cup of coffee and the place should be easy for cochin and other to find it )

3. So make a sweet n short one

4. as Arun said some place which is very near by city ( that will be fine )

@ Arun : first of all hi , sanjith is a hard core 2 stroke guy :P you can minkel n Winkle with hem for 2 stroke , well wanted to see your RD so badly

Listening brother .. i liked your plan .. if the ride from Trc is in between cochin n thrisure its easy for us to go back and time saving

Guys i wish to freeze on this two location as Hari mentioned ( any better location in between also would work ). As its easy for all the riders to go back after the ride *

I would strongly suggest Peechi.

Its a g2g, with a very short ride.
Athirapally is long , agreed. So we can fix some other place as Arun chetan suggested.

also we could think about cherai/snehatheeram..

RD350 for 12k ? Damn. I wish i had 12k. I would have bought it. Sigh...I dont have that much money.

but restoring it will cost a bomb what you think about it as you know the parts cost..

well if both location is closer by to trc and also from there cochin is also near by .. GO ahead ! i mean again we do not need to come back to TRC and then go to EKM .. well whats the Dist ( km ) of this 2 place from TRC and which direction it is ? i mean to cochin or some other ?

Im not so sure about Peechi, but to snehatheram. Its about some 20kms from trichur and no you dont have to go back to tcr to get to cochin. All you have to do is continue your way from snehatheram which has another road which goes to dapally.
Last time when we met sangeet,vishnu and praskritij they followed that route, they dint come back to trichur, ill try to contact them and get the route right and ill post here.

Yes , ithink it is ideal places, both of them.
So now all we have to do is to fix a place. And then we are on.
So guys please give us your suggestion and we can decide.

Trissur is getting hotter day by day. After some 11 the heat is just too much. I think being in coimbatore you will be used to it na.

Snehatheeram seems nice, we went on a working day at about 1pm . And there was nobody there.
But since our g2g is on Sunday, there will be people, but more than enough parking space is there. And place to sit also. The ride till there is also very good.


Yup the ride is not too long.

So one more vote for Snehatheeram.
