CARNET, i think it would be tough for a superbike, since it is an individual who is bringing it down, not a firm like yamaha or honda.

I doubt they would give you sleepless nights if you are trying to get it here after all this DRI hulla gulla.

AFAIK, goods bought under CARNET are for exhibiting purpose ryt ?

The entire CARNET thing is a news for me. I just checked the site and wasn't really able to find the hyderabad contact details. Maybe Kriss can find something.

Looks like anyone can get a temporary import but my question is "Is it worth the money, the risk and ofcourse the headache?"

You planning to come here anytime soon? If Yes, how long do you plan to stay. I think the answer to this question might just justify the answer to my first question.

i removed the chain covers for my uni long time ago(cannot find them now ) and the chain kit is to be replaced,but can i use the chain kit (or individual parts) of the bikes with open chains(o ring - p200,p220,apache)..??
the uni's being closed type,and keeping it open has reduced it's life...

talking about tyres, I have a Michelin Sirac 120/80 R18 for sale. Run around 5000km. I think many of the folks here are aware of this tyre(and the bike too), asking price 1500/-. I think new one is around 2400/- or 2500/-

Suggest a Place which needs help

The Plan as of now is -

Ride to a place which is effected by the Floods & which did not receive proper Support.
The Ride is on 18 Oct.
By that time most of the Govt., bodies, Political parties News channels will forget this & no one will have any plans to support them any further.

I noticed in previous flood situations that after a week or so every1 will forget the Floods & its effects.
But the people effected will still require support like food & Medicines.
They may not have money to purchase them.
So we supply them Rice (Uncooked).
We already saw that rice & vegetables are black marketed.
We'll purchase it from here & carry it to them.
Just a supply of 1 or 2 kg rice per 1 family who are in need is good enough.
On each bike we can carry a 25kg bag.
Depending on the number of people participating we can plan the rice to purchase.

This Idea is from my sister & she contributed 1k.
I'm contributing 1k on behalf of my Store.
So now the Collection stands at 2k.

Please try to support this.
U can support it in 2 ways -

1. Money for Purchasing Rice,
2. Participation of riders for transporting & distributing the rice.

Both are equally important.
U can do anything U want.

Please add UR names & PM me if U want to contribute anything for this.

Please suggest a Place which needs help.
The Place should be accessible by bikes.
We'll be able to carry not more than Rice for 75-100 families.
So it should not have lot of population.
With a highly populated village we'll not be able to help them properly.

Essentially a remote village with low population & which did not receive enough support.
Please help me in identifying the right village.

just saw the ninja here in hyd pbk and i must say its an awesome looking machine...much better in reality than pics...the pbk guy said one detail...the side fairing one side costs 20k minimum...there are no free services...and on road will be anywhere between 3.10 to 3.20 lakhs....mileage is 20 to 25 max..the right light will be on when the bike is started along with pilot lamp 24 by 7....also per month 20 to 25 bikes will be sold...and booking is 40k...if finance then 1.5lakh down payment and 6000/- per month then onwards

If longer period like 4-6 months, its worth, so that you would spend sometime with family, and some road trips.

20K for Fairing? Those are the first things to get damaged if the bike falls, which is highly possible in india

R15's itself sell around 30-40 per month or may be less than that. I dont expect them (ninja) to go beyond 15 after couple of months. Ofcourse first month would be having good sales.
