A 1000 RUPEES MAY BUY A BOTTLE OF BOOZE BUT EVEN A MILLION RUPEES CANT MANUFACTURE BLOOD WHEN IT IS REALLY NEEDED, SO PLEASE GO AND VOLUNTARILY DONATE, IT FEELS REALLY GOOD, post MEGA GTG (which i will miss BTW) YOU GUYS CAN HAVE A VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION DRIVE IF POSSIBLE.

Ok here are the economics part - these guys charge around a lakh a day!!. Yes you saw it right, a lakh a day only. Normally these guys give the SBKs to the film/ads shootings...

went for a rip ride in the morning.. 3 days since I rode my bike because of some issues.. got fork straightened, clip on straigthened (all these souvenirs of my first accident lol)
Thanks to Patny motors for doing a great job without changing parts unnecessarily (and letting me off cheap), and nikhpaul for taking time from his busy bewarse schedule to give my bike to them

Saturday early morning met Satish @his office and picked up the oil he had up for sale. Around 11, met Prabhakar @pbk and picked up another can for my friends P180. Did make a visit to Patny motors and then Pearl yamaha about the on road pricing, waiting period etc of the R15. All the on road prices have increased due to increase in Vat % which came into existence since 15 Jan 2010 . On rd Price of R15 at Patny motors: 1,12,315 and at pearl Yamaha :1,11,800.

Made my way to Relaince Autozone at Tolichowki. To be honest there is nothing much for bikers apart from few lids. They had two agv's and few mpa's and the rest all studds etc. Agv's are priced at 2200 after discount. Mpa's are priced at 1450 after discount (MRP on tag is 1700).

Picked up three no's of mpa flash plus Helmets. Two for ma buddies and one for myself . Will post the pics soon , I grabbed the the one with a white theme.

PS: Which insurance is offerring cashless claims on motorcycle insurance. If the showroom, iam picking the bike from does not have tie up with the cashless insurance company then how do i go about it. ? Thanks

guys, I spoke to a friend of mine who is with the site mentioned in my signature. He is a very active member of that organisation. He told me strictly not to organise any blood donation camp and instead urged us to register in the website mentioned in my signature.

Why like that ?

In India, no hospital can store blood for more than three days. After that the platelets and wbc's are separated and stored and this too for max 29days.

So we're better off registering in the site with all the details so that who ever needs blood will go through the site and directly contact the donor and he/she can donate.

So this fresh blood is better than stored blood. I too felt this made sense and a better way. Today most hospitals in India give the website address or list of donors to the patients family through this website only. So the reach is very very good.

He is ready to talk to all of us if we want to know more about blood donation.

Wow! Its shamirpet on everyones' mind for this sunday!!
I was supposed to join couple of friends for a early morning photowalk at Shamirpet but I was watching some movie in the UTV World movies till late night and though I got by 6:00AM, I was late(I was supposed to be at Tirumalgiri by 6:00AM), so slept again.

Shamirpet is a hot destination these days

There is also a huge RC Fan club in hyderabad who meet at some grounds in shamirpet and show off their RC(Remote Controlled) cars, nitro cars, helicopters, planes and what not

Coming to photography... there is a great scope for bird photography in and around shamirpet... especially near the BITS PILANI road...

also inquire about the demand vs supply..this is all OT we should discuss this in a new thread or via pm.
Voluntary donation is the best..but we always need a ready stockpile of blood..for emergencies..in case of a mass casuality( fires,mobs, riots, explosions) there is simply no way we can rely on website or voluntary donors to come..it will be too late..moreover most hospitals have limits on their storage and once the stock is sufficient they will send away donors ad offer to contact them only during emergencies..im blood group ab+ so im never asked for voluntary because my purpose is better served as fresh donor owning to the relative rarity of my blood as opposed to a+,b+,o+.

yes..the initiative in Kakas signature is excellent too..however..it may not be as helpful in a critical condition as donor mobilization is tough..i have worked with blood banks and the voluntary response system is always the weak link in supply.
but one way or the ensure that every one donates at-least twice a year and hopefully 3 times. now if any joker says they do it 6-7 times a year god speed them on their way to an early death





PS Routine blood storage is limited to several weeks (5 for WB, 6 for RBC), and involves refrigeration. components are separated usually as one unit of blood will help many people.. max storage time is 49 days but indian blood banks tend to dispose unused stocks after 5 weeks..but generally through a network all the blood banks are tied up and emergency supplies are sent back and forth when needed

I already told Thejus that I can donate blood as I did not donate in the last 1 year.
I Usually donate thrice a year but in the last 2 years I donated only twice - both times in 2008 & none in 2009.

@nikhpaul: I saw another red&white R6 (only one silencer stock) on my way to office this morning-the seating position was too aggressive&GC was REAL low. 2 lidless guys in formals-the one at the back was looking real funny sitting high up with his ass out&holding the tank-2 girls even laughed at him. I saw&heard it roaring for sometime inching through the traffic&then realized I'm getting late&buzzed off to office!
