Welcome back Vinu! Amazing ride you had there!
I had ridden last month to see my Mother at Bangalore too, but couldn't bring the bike back due to cyclonic rains so I brought it back on Monday.
You are right-Friday was the coldest day in Bangalore in years! Hyderabad is also 'chilled out' now.

Hello all..............I am back from my south solo and good to see this place buzzling with action Gandipet grand canyon has become quite famous too, some really nice captures there.

Here is a brief trip log from what I have been up to for the last 20 days. Will post the link in the touring section and share it here soon :-

Who : Vinu aka MadMax
Ride : Yamaha R15 (Solo)

Places rode through :-

Hyd - Kurnool - Ananthapur - Bangalore - Mysore - Nilgiri - parts of Ooty - Each and every 14 district of Kerala - Coimbatore - Salem - Madanpalle- kadiri.

Places Visited :

Mudumalai Tiger reserve - TN
Nilgiris and tea estates of Tantea and Nestle - TN
Bandipur National Park - TN

Kerala District wise break up :

Kasarcod : Bekal fort (featured in few movies especially a song in the movie Bombay)
Kannur : Muzapilangadi drive in beach (the only drive/ride in beach in kerala)
Calicut : Calicut beach, Kappad beach (Vasco da gama landed here way back)
Wayanad : Thamarassery Churam (famous for its beauty, traffic and danger,9 hairpin bends in this 14 km long pass)
Malappuram : Kadampuza Devi temple (this was a must on my list)
Thrissur : Famous Guruvayur temple, Parthasarathy temple, Athirapally waterfall (80 ft fall featured in the boyywood flick Ravan)
Ernakulam : Kodanad elephant training centre, Kaladi, Malayattur church, Bhuthathankettu dam, Thattekad bird sanctuary
Idukki : Thommankuthu waterfall
Alapuzha : Krishnapuram palace, Mannarasala temple
Kollam : Backwater trips and stay at Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam beach,Neendakara port and Peruman temple
Trivandrum : Kovalam beach, Shankumugham beach, Kanakakunnu palace, Napier museum, Valiyathura bridge, vettimuricha kotta and the hill station Ponmudi.


Total km on odo : 4166
One service done at Hilton autos in Trivandrum (Thanks to lijo from tvm xbhp)
casualities if i may say so: right mirror broke, one puncture and managed to loose my dsg primal riding gloves

Return trip started from Ernakulam on Dec 07 at sharp 7 am. Did a non stop run via Palakkad, Thrissur, Coimbatore, Salem, Krishnagiri (NH 219), Palmaner,

Madanepalle, Mudigubba , Kadiri (NH 205), Ananthapur, Kurnool (NH7) to Hyd in 16 hours and 42 minutes flat. Included one sutta break and one snack break.

1211 kms in close to 17 hours.

PS: I was not trying for IBA, I just wanted to get home and see my mom . Got smoked in the rain all the way from Ananthapur till hyd in the chilling cold weather yesterday. Damn, so much has changed in Ap in 20 days..... New chief minister, weired n shitt cold weather...crazy !!

Amazing trip Vinu. I am sure you will cherish the trip for long time. This was the trip I have been trying to do for the last three years, but it never happened. I have always wanted to tour entire Kerala and Karnataka on bike. Hope my dreams come true some day.

One extra balaclava with me

@All: I have one extra balaclava with me, bought from Pune ProBiker for Rs.100. If anyone is interested in it, please contact me.
This is the same size&shape as the Cramster balaclava, but the Cramster one is made of slightly thicker material and costs Rs.200. I bought a few for Satish&a tankbag for Shabbar as well this time.
If you guys need anything else, please let me know by monthend, I will be going again to Bangalore, not by bike this time so I can carry bigger stuff like jackets, etc.

Vinu...You must have loved every second of it! I know i did when i went on a holiday to kerala with family. But riding through those scenic places is an entirely different experience, must have been awesome! If anyone is planning any rides in/around hyderabad in future, please do share it us in this thread! I dont want to miss it

can anyone guide me as to how to reach Mallapur, Nacharam in Secunderabad?

also has anyone recently traveled from mumbai to hyd or even from solapur to hyd?? hows the road conditions there?

any other tips suggestions would be most helpful....

I visited the place by car once, should be over a year now. Just search google maps for directions. It will be from Dilshuknagar-Ibrahimpatnam then the road takes you all the way to Nagarjuna Sagar.
I would have loved to ride along but then as I mentioned, I will be traveling to Mumbai again.

Guys, since the trip by Vinu has brought up the Kerala topic, can someone suggest some must visit places around Kochi? I will be traveling there this month end for my friends wedding.

In recently got me a pirelli sport demon (140/70-17) for my Fz, damn had a tough time finding it...

After 3 hours search from ramkote, afzalgung, sec bad.... found it @ poona accessories @ ramkote for 4k

He was the only guy who had it and would'n give it for less...

Anyways im happy with it and im glade i made that purchase...

It sticks to the road very well, and cornering just got even better

OT- Me also got me an Ibanez Rg350M-BK as my Christmas gift
I case u guys are wondering what it is, its an electric guitar

Its raining Christmas for me, Seems like Santa came in early this year
