It could have been Amby Valley but I am looking for something new and I haven't been towards the North of Mumbai.
Try the Jawar Route and if u can streatch go to trimbakeshwar from there.. I guess its the best internal route i have been too..beating the amby valley stretch in terms of quality of the road

Hi there........,You can try going to silvassa by an inner road which is almost empty barring a few vehicles. There is a right turn after Dahanu Mahalaxmi temple but before Talasari........Doodhni at silvassa is around 45 km from vapi which is also a deserted road which leads deep into tribal area and has a beautiful lake.......man made and also there is a govt run tent camp ......very good place.......

I guess you dint travelled whole upto trimbakeshwar from the Jawar route!
A very bad stretch of around 5-6 kms (when i say very bad, expect it to be a lot worse) which will seriously give your bike the shock of a lifetym...
Another 30 kms stretch after that is also sumwhat very boring n full of potholes...

**Pretty scary, but yes the road except this part is pretty amazing with sexy twisties n all, Go Spin...

The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.

I second you... literally a very bad stretch... recently been through that route while coming back from Nasik, was real pain in the a**e.

            • I stuck to my initial plan. Went to Shirgaon. Started at 6am and reached back home by 11:30. Even at 6am the traffic was thick with trucks and 18 wheel monsters. I should have expected that considering this road connects Mumbai and Surat.

The stretch between Manor and Palghat was surprisingly good. The small ghat section reminded me of Lavasa of Pune. wont rate it as good as Lavasa but this comes close. Twists and turns to top a smooth road...

Shirgaon was expectedly disappointing. The beach was actually a huge 'sulabh sauchalay' for the locals. The fort, had it been taken good care, could have been a good tourist attraction. There is some restoration work happening... but I dont think one can call it 'restoration'. They are simply patching cement which is stealing the charm of the fort.

Oh yeah, I was rewarded with sight of few SBKs on the way. They were five of them. I know that the Mumbai-Manor stretch is a favourite for the SBKers. So was kind of anticipating to see them. They stopped at a dhaba. I was too engrossed in enjoying my ride and moved ahead of the place before I could realize. There was a Gixxer, R1 and Truimph from whatever I could make out of the glimpes.
