You guys use GPS/Mobile phone for navigating??
How do u plan the route?Google maps show most directions which involves mumbai-pune exp way where bikes are not allowed...

on ur pc:
1. login to google maps
2. chalk out a route u are interested in based on the direction & the distance that google maps shows - the kms shown by gmaps are relative & in real life situation u may fairly consider an overage of 10~15% in kms.
3. use the mouse & zoom-in + the wiki / fotos layers on the maps to get more info about the locations enroute - seeing fotos of places nearby will help u decide the route
4. once u have planned the entire round-trip, choose 'SAVE to My Maps' function
5. provide an easy to refer name to save the map finalized.

then on ur smartfone:
1. fire up gmaps
2. tap on settings & locate my maps [or something similar - varies from phone to phone]
3. notice that the maps u saved on the PC, now appear on the smartphone too
4. use the map as a reference, whenever u need, during ur ride.

for discover &/or recording ur rides:
1. download & install another google app - My Tracks
2. before u start ur journey, start this app & hit 'record' button
3. till the time u turn the app off, the app will record ur exact route, as u've rode it.
4. once done recording, tap stop.
5. u may upload this route to ur gmaps account for future reference.

lack of riding gear and money also plus petrol price hike started saving pocket money for good gloves thoda parents ka funding....

the best what i do is decide on generic route and then just ask around

with so much of population here you find people even in the remotest areas

plus you get so much more than what the map or online info offers

Edit:zenith in all probability will be closed because of drunken revelers.It was the case atleast two years back.dont now current situation.
