Just few days back, a biker was avoiding a pothole and to his very bad luck, a dumper banged him from behind and he lost his life

This Black yellow van (taxi) was not able to climb up the flyover in 1st gear and was frequently coming back and hitting the daily commuters...It just missed me as I was on extreme left and I had to bang on the doors of the van a couple of times to warn the driver...

@I_Live2Ride : a slight correction...
a construction site muck-carrying dumper lost its right-side front wheel bang in the middle of the KHOPRI over-pass resulting in serpentine traffic all over the highway.
the spot where this happened is about 6 kms from my home.
i started from home in my car @ 7:20a.m. & was able to cross the accident spot by 8.40am.
so, it took me 'only' 80minutes to cover a distance of around 6kms.
but, after i crossed the accident spot, it was a home run for me all the way till IIT Powai
also while stuck in traffic, saw several NS200 bumblebees & R15 riders pass by, fully geared in RJay's & A-Star's etc.
felt good to see safety awareness being on the rise even in daily commuters

Yeah.. meant the same... I didn't realize that it was a ' construction site muck-carrying dumper' coz my helmet's visor was all wet and my breathing made it more difficult for me to see.. And yes, after the flyover it was definitely a home run till Gandhinagar bridge...

Got iritated and gave a green signal to close by 4...mere 4 to abhi baj gaye... pack up chalu, rain coat pehen k ready...office clock kept 10 mins ahead

LOL.... took me 45 minutes to get from Brindavan to Mulund Toll Naka and after that, it took me another 45 minutes to get to office in Churchgate , all thanks to the Freeway

.... now let's see how long it takes me to get back home..

This is what scares me- you avoid potholes and get bumped off. You take the potholes and your bike and back get damaged!
Last weekend a Suzuki Access rider lost his life when the wheel got trapped in a deep pothole near Malad on the highway and he was thrown off

A small essay on Mumbai's road condition:

Highway is blessed with free off roading capabilities, splashes from either side of the roads, dumper trucks or any other trucks which makes me scare when they are approaching from behind.

SV Road / main roads have been blessed with next to nothing paver blocks, idiots (thinking they are Usian Bolt) crossing near the signals, RED signals (which many bikers dont follow), roads with swimming pool.

auto-rickshaw plying the roads as if they were on exit route just after a bank-heist
cows [YES... 'pet' cows] sitting bang in the middle of the road exactly the way the RTO officers squat on their bulls @ traffic islands
magnanimous amount of garbage littered every 300 meters on the road
B.E.S.T. Bus / Laal Dubba S.T. Bus drivers driving as if there were driving chariots in the epic battle merely to decimate every biker & car on the road [the way they did in Ben Hur]
ladies driving their cars in demented patterns with all possible mirrors in the cars turned to show their own faces instead of other vehicles on the road
and a few dozen more things...

some ladies are really bad drivers and riders...sometime back i was literally brushed from the left side thank god nothing happend she just looked and just drove off...

Talking about ladies, well, some hours back, i was on the WEH and few meters after the TOI flyover, a maruti 800 with all pitch dark glass standing right in the middle lane with "L" on it and just one indicator on. Was she checking if the indicators were working? Or was she checking whether people can see the "L" sticker on the car? Or was she in trouble
